Food is all a matter of personal preference, I prefer the "Texas Cheesesteak" over a "true Philly Cheesesteak" anyway, I would take Texadelphia over Pat's or Geno's any day, just what I prefer. Just like I prefer Tex-Mex to "authentic Mexican" food. The "authentic Mexican" food that I have had has been pretty bad in my opinion.

I love cherry peppers. Texadelphia always disappointed me though, and I second that here in Norman they always seem to have no one there. I've even gone in during peak meal times and there is no one but my group there.

On a side note, best philly cheesesteak in Oklahoma is at the Rock Cafe in Stroud. They use rye bread there.

Spartan, I am sure they have plenty of business in Norman as it has been open for 4+ years and they would not be expanding if business was bad. The Texadelphia in Las Colinas Irving, is always busy and the food is great! Sorry for your negative spin on things, Spartan. Have a great day!

I was stating more that most food taste is a matter of opinion and not absolute fact. When it comes to Mexican/Tex-Mex I just think my Okie white boy (German/Norwegian ancestry) taste buds are just accustomed to Tex-Mex instead of "authentic Mexican" and especially interior Mexican food. Every place that I have tried that claims to be "authentic" has been rather poor in my opinion, some feel the places are great. I have had some from my neighbors which has been good and way too spicy for my Texican wife.

I think some here in Austin claim a place is "great" just because it is local as some of the "institutions" here (all food types) are mediocre to me while others do live up to the billing. I hear people rave about Lockhart BBQ, especially Smitty's and Kruez Markets, every time that I have been to those it has been more than a disappointment, in Lockhart I prefer Black's which has always been consistenly good. While many who "love" those places disparage The Salt Lick in Driftwood which I prefer, I also think Louis Mueller's in Taylor is better than anything in Lockhart.

I know with Texadelphia that my father has eaten at the some here and the one in Norman on a gameday, he thought the one here was better. He wasn't sure if that was due to the gameday rush or if it is their "normal" food as it can change greatly. There can also differences between the franchise places and owned places. I haven't tried Rudy's BBQ up there but went to the Austin franchisee location yesterday. I have tried the Selma location (owned, not franchise) in the San Antonio area and it is different in some ways from the Austin franchise, don't know if Freebirds is the same way since I haven't been to the College Station or Norman ones.

ON a side note just saw the banner over the space proclaiming the new addition to the NW side of The Centennial.. it reads "Bricktown is about to get a lot Cheesier." I can't agree more, as amazing as that seems.

Norman has great, local food: Pepe Delgado's on Campus Corner has great authetic Mexican. Victoria's has excellent Italian. Bison Witches has great sandwiches and soup. The Diner is great for breakfast. NY Pizza has great pizza and other Italian dishes. Greek House is exceptional. Too many others to list...

Maybe I have bad taste, but I really like Texadelphia's chicken cheesesteak. Texadelphia gets a good crowd on certain days. It just depends when you go. I'm excited that one is opening in BT.

Come to think of it, and i'm not sure if things have turned over, but the same people that operate 747 on campus corner originally operated the tecksadelfia on lindsay in Norman. some frat dudes from texas with deep pockets backing them. I'm out of the loop these days...

It's suppose to open this Friday.. I've been around LOOOOTTTSSS of remodels and have done lots of remodels, that's what I do, and it's coming along nicely.... But I will be impressed if they're open by Friday! It should without a doubt be open by next weekend tho.. Nonetheless it won't be much longer!! How's the food? Atmoshpere? Sports watching?!?

Meh, never been a fan of their food, atleast from the one in Norman or the one I had in Texas. They do have really good drink specials though and the atmosphere seems pretty good. Why would you be "impressed" if they open by Friday? Are they running behind?

It's located west of Starbucks, where LIT clothing was located. They aren't exactly running behind, just a whole lot to be done before Friday.

Texadelphia is a fun, laid back place. They have good drink specials and I like their food. It's a nice change of pace from In The Raw and Bolero's. I hope they do well.

I agreed. I used to sort of despise Lower Bricktown in a way with its Bass Pro and parking lots. But I find myself there more and more.

Texadelphia opened today. The place looks nice inside and on the patio. I recommend a Philly Cheesesteak. I thinknit will be a good addition to the area as they have good beer specials and relatively cheap food. A good place to go before Thunder games.
