    Tried it twice.
Each time it tasted something like they marinated it in lighter fluid.

Cattlemens is by far the best that is left in OKC.
But my all time fav was Steak and Ale, yea I know surprising to me too.
Cattlemen's OKC best? You need to get out more. Go to Red Prime, it's ranked one of the top 10 in the US. They are one of the few in Oklahoma that carry prime beef, and I believe the only that carries 40 day dry aged and wagyu beef. You haven't had a steak in Oklahoma until you've eaten here. Also try The Ranch, Mahoghany and Mickey Mantles for good seconds. Cattlemen's is nothing but a nostalgic place to eat.

    No, I have tried them.

You know, when I was typing the word "Cattlemen's" in, somehow I knew it was only a matter of time before "metro" would chime in to tell everybody how lame Cattlemen's is.

It took about two hours. Pretty good.

I don't salt, but I can see how it would be good.

Has anyone ever tried a watermelon feta salad? It's delightful.

    Here's a recipe:

    •Per serving:
•3/4 - 1 cup of cold watermelon, cubed
•1/4 cup of feta cheese, crumbled or cubed
•1/4 medium red onion, cut in paper-thin slices
•1/4 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar or balsamic vinaigrette
    Preparation:
Place the watermelon in a bowl, top with most of the onions, then the feta cheese. Place remaining onions on top. Sprinkle with balsamic vinegar, and serve.

I always "lightly" salt my watermelon, and I have been doing so for well over 50 years...it's about the only food I do put salt on anymore.

I've seen the watermelon/feta thing several times on the Food channel but I just can't bring myself to do it. I think it's a feta texture thing...I like it hot on Hideaway pizza but I can't do it cold with watermelon.

Now, watermelon made into a margarita with a salted rim. That's my style.

My dad always salted his watermelon. Now I'm trying to remember if he put pepper on it as well, because I vaguely remember that and am not sure if I'm correct.

I salt my watermelon and I'm quite surprised the poll is split 50/50. Didn't think that many people do it. You can find a chile/lime fruit seasoning at the hispanic markets and that tastes really good on watermelon as well.

Casey, the watermelon feta salad is great. I've had a version with sprigs of fresh mint and quartered roma tomatoes, delicious as well.

    This the stuff?

I've never had it on watermelon (I'm allergic or something), but I can vouch that it's really good on apples. I know Walmart sells it, at least.

Yes! That's the exact stuff I have. Sure is good on apples and jicama. I think I've even used it on corn on the cob.

    Never Salt it.

I know a man who owns a very successful business. When he interviews applicants he always treats them to a meal before the hiring decision is made. If they salt the food without tasting it 1st, he does not hire that applicant. Very interesting fellow.

I don't use salt on watermelon or cantalope, but my folks did along with pepper on cantalope. Being from Eastern Oklahoma, cantalopes were called muskmelons or mushmelons.
