kinggober...just wondering if there is a way you can tag each photo (on the camera itself) with the date and time the photo is taken? Thanks.

I don't know why I find this so annoying but they've been trying to place glass on the top of the elevator tower on the SE corner of the parking garage for a month.
Still not finished!
It's taking longer to complete this task than it took to erect the entire five-floor addition.
I hope they iron out the kinks before they get to the tower, otherwise they won't be able to finish the glazing in our lifetimes.
So, lets see, drop a beam during garage construction, pour concrete base foundation during sub freezing weather, tip over a crane, place a pier in the wrong location and have to jackhammer it out, missed the measurements on glass for the parking garage.....
why are you penalizing them for "pouring/placing" the concrete? first off, the weather wasn't sub-zero, just cold, and as others pointed out, it doesn't matter much to concrete because of it's own heat. as others pointed out, large projects like this have mistakes and used to be measured by fatalities.
The weather was perfect for the concrete. Maybe not for the workers who poured/placed the concrete.
Anyone who has ever had a house built will understand what a complicated process building any structure is. None of the so-called snafus seem out of the ordinary to me...and that does not mean anyone is "not" professional enough, I am sure. Watch "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" (1948) with Cary Grant and Myrna Loy to see this acted out.
Having been in the Sears, the Hancock, and several other iconic towers, I was just wondering if there had been any talk about putting an observation deck/floor with public access on top of the Devon tower. (For security reasons, they could dedicate a single elevator to serve only that platform.) Can you imagine how cool the views would be?
RockChalk, it has already been announced that there will not be a public viewing deck and will not be welcome in the tower without security clearance.
The rotunda, however, will be open to all.
That sucks.
Pete, when was that announcement made? Last I asked (Feb), this was undecided.
What are Devon officials saying is the overall progress thus far?
on schedule, ahead of schedule, a month behind?
I haven't heard anything about the pier. I doubt they would be jack-hammering it out because it was placed in the wrong location. More likely the rebar was tied wrong or the concrete was bad.
At least they discovered it early. Vegas has a new hotel at the new City Center Resort that is only half its planed height because all the rebar in the columns were tied wrong.
The concrete was chipped down to get the top of pile at the designed elevation. No problem with rebar or concrete. This is a common occurence.
The Devon cam is stuck.
I know! I hate it.
So wait, the put a support pier int he wrong spot? That is a fairly substantial blunder...or am I misreading this?
I think this is the pier that is in question
I may be mistaken but I could have sworn Larry Nichols made a definitive statement about this around the time the project was announced.Pete, when was that announcement made? Last I asked (Feb), this was undecided.
I'll do some research and see if I can confirm it.
