I see lots of Leon Russell and Elton John on these lists. Hold on to your hats, folks! A possibly amazing record is in the works, Leon, Elton, Bernie, and T-Bone working together. I hope it happens...one never knows about these things.

    12.31.09
    New Album Update
Bernie and Elton will return to the studio in mid-January to record a collaborative album with the iconic Leon Russell. Russell, who has always been one of Elton’s musical heroes and influences when it comes to piano styling, will be featured on a 50/50 basis - writing and performing his own material for the project, as well as writing with both Bernie and Elton, and performing and singing on the pair's own songs.

A marathon writing session in Los Angeles last November saw the trio pen a vast wealth of material that ranges far and wide and covers many musical genres.

The sessions will be overseen and produced by Henry (T-Bone) Burnett whose work on roots-based records over the last several years have turned this multi-Grammy winning musician and producer into the go-to-guy for unique projects.

We advise all not familiar with Leon or T-Bone to Google and learn more about these extraordinary individuals.

Don’t forget to keep checking for new postings by Bernie on his blog as we’re hoping he’ll be reporting some of his own personal feelings on this exciting new chapter in his storied career.

    Think about it.
If these were the songs heard for the rest of my life, I would really be in need of redemption!

That was the original question, that has been ignored.
If you had a make a CD of TEN (and only TEN) rock/pop songs
that you would listen to for the rest of your life, what would they
be? It's harder that you think.
I had a hard time with it.

As far as redemption goes try My316.com - Take it personally

Which is why almost everyone said that their list would change week to week, if not day to day.

Monster, Steppenwolf's best song. Sam Stone on 96.1 KOCY-FM (Under Oklahoma City), would play it when he had to take an extended (ahem) break.

You know, like you, I like just about all kinds of music but Heavy metal and"Rap".

Remember, I was country when Country wasn't Cool....I was listening to KLPR and WBAP Ft. Worth, Texas when you guys (including my wife) were listening to Bad Finger, Steppenwolf, Creedence Clearwater revival, The Who, and all of the other LOUD nusic players....they were good though....And I DO LIKE John Prine.......(Rita Ballou).....

I put peanuts in my RC Cola............Have to use Coke now though (coca-Cola)....

HOWEVER, IF I REALLY HAD TO PICK 10 SONGS TO LISTEN FROM NOW ON.....IT WAS BE A MEDLEY OF SCOTT JOPLIN SONGS...ISN'T THAT WHAT THIS "FUN" THREAD IS ALL ABOUT?...yee-haw

This has been a tough question. Now I'm on Country, but of course this is
only for the rest of my life providing I die tomorrow!

Hey, Ray Price is still singing great! I played with his pianist a couple of
    months ago. Great player.

This list is in case I have to be with Gen64 for an extended length of
time bootlegging... which we hope never... mind... LOL!

    Country
Hey, Good Lookin' - Hank Williams
Sixteen Tons - Tennessee Ernie Ford
Walkin' after Midnight - Patsy Cline
Heartaches by the Number- Ray Price
Your Cheatin' Heart - Hank Williams
Mean Mama Blues - Ernest Tubb
For the Good Times - Ray Price
The Race is On - George Jones
I Can't Stop Loving You - Ray Charles

Here are some Rock 'n' Roll hit's, not pop, I remember on the radio from the
50's. This doesn't include Patti Page, who I got to stand next to and get
my mug in a newspaper photo with her! I think she wanted to marry me.

    Ain't That a Shame - Fats Domino
    Earth Angel - The Penguins?
Long Tall Sally - Little Richard
Blue Suede Shoes - Carl Perkins? I know he wrote it. Gary Lewis?
I Found My Thrill - Fats
Wake Up Little Suzy - Everly Brothers
I'm Walkin' - Fats Yes, I was a Fats Fan!
Banana Boat Song - Harry Belafonte
    Yakety Yak - The Coasters
Donna - Richie Valens I think he was singing about Donna Loren. She'd
have married me if she'd met me, as would Grace Kelly, Doris Day, Grace
Kelly, Patsy Cline, Grace Kelly, Myrtle Snodgrass and Grace Kelly.
