Thread: New Country Club in Norman

  1. #1

Default New Country Club in Norman

Actually on 77 (Sooner) between Noble and Norman...

    apartment homes in norman, oklahoma

It's a Lindsey Management property like the Moore Golf and Athletic Club. Seems to be following their typical MO.... Lots of apartments. They are already done with some of the apartments.

Anybody know anything about the course? I know it's going to be an 18 hole course, but nothing else....

Not sure if I'd call an apartment community a "country club."

It's a private golf course. It's a country club. While it's unusual to have apartments on a golf course, it's private so it keeps the hackers away.

If they run/operate this one like the one in Moore, it will not be a private course. The one in Moore is open to the public, it's not a bad course, I play there when I don't have time or feel like driving to Earlywine or Hefner.

If you are into the the social aspects and more worried about who sees you and who they see you with... then, stick to a more traditional country club. If you actually care about golf and don't want to spend half of a mortgage to play at a club then it's great.

Um, it's not open to the public unless they changed that pretty recently. If you aren't a member, guest of a member, or resident of the apartments you shouldn't be able to play there.

I played there today, I don't live there, it is open to the public.

I used to go to the course at 89th and Shields and I remember it being referred to as a "club". Hardly a place where the elite meet but it had holes in the ground and nice turf.

I'm thinking that if one wants to be seen as high class while they chase their balls around the pasture, they might skip the middle class suburbs and go straight to the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Don't forget to bring a caddy for appearance!

According to this article from last year in the Norman Transcript its 18 holes, semi-private. Free for tenants, but hackers can pay to play.

lindsey apartments are the cheapest pieces of junk I've ever come across. That better be one heck of a course or this is going to be a flop.
