There's my car on top of Century Center!
Were you in the Petroleum Club taking those photos ?
Awsome shots, okcmomentum!
Yes Great shots! I have always wanted to know what the view looks like from that Tower! I can't wait to see shots from the top of the Devon Tower!
man
you will probably be able to see Amarillo from the top of the Devon tower
THanks for the great pics!
I sometimes run the steps at OU's stadium for exercise and recently went to the top of the upper deck. From there you can see downtown about 20 miles to the northwest. I was thinking how Devon will be clearly visible from up there, could make for a cool shot of the OU campus with downtown and Devon in the distance (on clear days/nights).
okcmomentum...looking at your pics I find myself yearning for the Rockies.
When again are they suppose to go to 24/7 shifts? I know they're not right now cause on SUN nights there's no work lights on. I'm thinking after the end of March when the Core Pour (my Big Dig name) is done with...
So today was the first day I was able to make it down to the construction site. It was pretty cool, what with all the activity and noise. However I was not able to see much other than the crane. They had the street narrowed down to one lane just south of the site and there were a lot of guys directing traffic and urging everyone to slow down. I am not sure what the guy in the car in front of me did but it prompted one of the guys directing traffic to shoot him the bird.
can someone upload some more pics please. The cam does not give that much detail.
I might pay a visit Saturday afternoon, Troy. Depends how I feel after my 430am shift.
On Saturday, they should be doing the big pour!
In that case, I will definitely drop by. I will be up there between 1-2pm.
Are they setting up a second tower crane to the east? I was there observing the site at lunch and saw what looked like just the base of another tower crane being off loaded. Didn't see any other tower components.
Picture should be attached:
That definately is a tower crane base and the pad is formed and ready to be poured just like the Original one was done. Looks like they will pour and set today or tonight based on what was previously done.
As far as the pour tomorrow on the foundation for the building? I hope so, but it sure looks like they have a lot more to do prior to them being ready. It still appears to me that they need to tie in more cages for the traslation of piers through the slab, but time will tell. Thanks for the picture! I have been dying for a shot with some detail so I could get a clear look at the foundation area of the building.
Just got home from taking pictures, and yes, the crane base is already set.
I just visited the site for the first time. It's crazy how big everything is in person and how much activity is going on. I don't think they'll be ready to poor because the suspended rebar in the mat is not quite half done.
Here are some pics from my droid. It appears they have the new tower crane base set.
OK, I found out tonight that the pour will be next Sunday. Sheridan will be closed and all four Dolese plants will be involved with trucks scheduled to arrive every 15 minutes. Should be very interesting to see.
Does anyone know how many trucks this is going to take? I would imagine they would have more than one pumper going too. Last week I passed a train with 50 Dolese train cars all filled with gravel. I wonder if it will take all of those just for the core pour?
