Favorite school subject and/or teacher?

Don't know if this topic has been covered before...if so, just ignore!

If not, then what was your favorite school subject(s) and/or your favorite teacher(s)? Could be elementary school, but better if junior high or high school.

My favs were English grammar--didn't like the literature part, American history, Oklahoma history, psychology, and economics.

I was a band nerd I guess....I was fortunate enough to be a member of an award winning band all through Jr. and Sr. Highschool.....Mr. Don todd and Mr. James Harris were the directors. However, I really did like History....Joe Walser was my favorite History Teacher.....

Two favorite teachers were Mrs. Kroh and Mrs. Lollis.

Favorite class was drivers ed. Especially when we used the simulators. Clas was right after lunch and lunch was "smoke" time.

mrs. guthrie from mustang trails elementary was my 4th grade yeacher and the best ever. i loved that woman. i need to go see her.

I had two, Mrs. Walkingstick, 4th grade at Willard Elementary. (would swat the back of your hand with a ruler if she caught you acting up in class) was an excellent teacher.

Mr. Owens, 3rd grade at Willard. My dad passed away the summer prior to 3rd grade and he took me under his wings, not just a teacher but also father figure.

Moore High School, Creative Writing both Junior & Senior year, taught by Mrs. Pamela Maisano and French all three years of HS by Mrs. Linda Savage. They were both absolutely wonderful teachers.

I'd be remiss if I didn't go back to kindergarton & give a shoutout to Mrs. Karen McCornack from Northmoore Elem. She was (and still is) awesome.

Sharon Burton at Lake Park Elementary School. Jean McGrady, Gail Hearth, and George Goodwin at Western Oaks Elementary. Barbara Berard (Fowler when she was my teacher) who taught speech at Western Oaks Junior High. She was beautiful, yet very professional and fun. She is well known in Oklahoma City as a dance teacher and choreographer. Howard Olinger at Western Oaks. He was a petroleum engineer turned junior high math teacher. He was a great classroom teacher and the student council sponsor-A true educator. Charles Moore was kind of a funny version of a junior high Bobby Knight. He was my basketball coach who cussed so much parents from the schools we played complained about his language. He was a good coach though, and a good teacher of basketball fundamentals. Good thing Ytube did not exist in his day. Most are retired from teaching now but hold a dear place in my heart.

AP English Literature with Dr. White, Band with Mr. Gallaway, Speech and Debate with Coach Mitchell, Honors Physical Science with Mrs. Tow.

We didn't have a lot back home, but I was a state competitor in both flute (and band) and speech and debate. We had a 100% pass rate on the first-ever AP exam administered at our school, and the Honors Phys Sci class was just plain cool. We didn't even have a text; we made our own throughout the year in a giant binder and did lots of really cool hands-on projects. If only college were so fun

We also wrote, directed, and performed in our very own Greek tragedy. I was one of two chronically shrinking lesbians in the play. I also played percussion behind the curtain for effect. Oh, and we did a video of the witch scene in MacBeth (bubble, bubble, toil and trouble...). Very cool stuff.

well, im in my mid 20's, but i really didn't have a crush on her. i just loved her as a teacher. yes, there were teachers i had crushes on her, but with mrs. guthrie, she was a teacher, but also a friend. helped really bring me out of my shell. she was awesome. i actually contacted her today, thanks to this thread, and plan on going to visit her soon.

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Baugh for English at Grant. She was tough and those vocabulary words sucked; however, I learned them and when I see some of the horrible grammar and terrible spelling on message boards on other websites, I'm very thankful that she was so tough.

I remember Mr. Goodwin. Nice man. I am trying to remember what class Ms. McGrady taught. It is on the edge of my memory.

My favorite teacher was Mrs. White from Millwood, sixth grade math teacher but she used to read to us at the end of the day. She was funny. She'd say, "Bless my stars and worn out garters!" and we thought that was quite saucy.

Drafting/Architecture classes under Mr. Story at PC West, it probably had more of an impact on me and my career than any of college classes that I had.
His funeral was the day of the OKC Bombing.

Back in your day it was probably no big deal.. but for us non-athletic kids, it was pretty much the last venue in school where you could be better than everyone else and that it'd be treated as a good thing.

I enjoyed orchestra a lot. Had a pretty good teacher in middle school and two absolutely neurotic teachers in high school. It is possible I had something to do with their conditions... But I stuck with it, eventually it paid for most of my undergrad. I miss it and am looking to get back into music... so if anyone needs a fiddle player...

I'm sure most of the Grant Members remember Mrs. Hilda Manning......but how many remember the Choir teacher Mrs. Manning......She was so nice ....Unitil you acted up and she had this thing about a ruler across your open hand. It still hurts.....

I had her for choir. It was really a time to hone our skill of shooting papers
bullets with rubber bands. You know, we'd tie 2 or 3 rubber bands together
and wrap them around our thumb and forefinger then use skillfully folded
paper bullets, normally made during math, and shoot them like a sling shot.

As you can see I had a well rounded education.
