They really had no choice. Edmond Medical Center does not exactly have a stellar record and INTEGRIS is in the process of adding a new hospital to Edmond.
I noticed they are bringing back Labor and Delivery services back to the hosptial. Right now Edmond has no Labor and Delivery hospital. Most moms go to Baptist, Lakeside or Mercy. That is a huge market that INTEGRIS will take advantage of at the new INTEGRIS Health Edmond Hospital.
I also noticed they are expanding Emergency Room services. INTEGRIS has also committed to building an 18 bed Level 2 Trauma ER. This will mean the people of Edmond will be able to access many of the same sevices that are available at Mercy and Baptist.
Both hospitals realize that their is good insurance money and wealthy people who self pay in Edmond, North Edmond and Guthrie that have been long overlooked for care until now.
I thought this was an intesting and wise strategy. I hope that this brings the same, higher level of physician to Edmond as those who practice at OU Medical Center in OKC.
are they bringing in a good heart program and physicians from OU, bigger cath lab?
