Where can I go to get the best chicken fried steak?
Where can I go to get the best chicken fried steak?
I vote Cheever's!
CHEEVER’S CHICKEN FRIED STEAK
Our specially seasoned hand breaded top sirloin steak smothered in a jalapeno cream gravy
and served with garlic red skinned mashed potatoes - a true Oklahoma staple

I'm going with Cheevers as well. However, their portions are too big for just one person. Having said that, I have eaten it all in one sitting.
Del-Rancho.
Classen Grill.
What about Anne's Chicken Fry? I haven't been for years and I think it's still there. It used to have fantastic CFS!
This is Oklahoma. I don't think I've had a bad chicken fried steak anywhere. However, there is this little restaurant in Westville, OK, I think It's called Ray's (not sure, but it's like the only restaurant there so just ask someone), that has the best chicken fried chicken I have ever had in my life. It is to die for and totally worth the 3 hour drive to get it.
Ooooooh....I've had bad ones. Chili's can be pretty inconsistent. Sometimes they are good and other times they have breading on them hard enough to need a jackhammer.
If you happen to be in Tulsa, Nelson's is hard to beat. Used to be a downtown institution forever, closed for years, now Nelson's son Barry has opened it up again north of downtown. Same recipe. (And save room for pie - Barry's mom gets up at dark-thirty most mornings to make them. Not many like these around anymore....)
Sunrise Cafe on NE 23rd St. in Nicoma Park. Not deep fried, but fried on the griddle. Very good.
cracker barrel
Chuckhouse. I don't like steak; I don't like any meat breaded, but their chicken fried steak is to die for...and the only place I'll eat one.
Cheevers! Yum
Anns Chicken Fry and Toby Keiths both have a great Chicken Fry!
There's only three places in the state I've had bad Chicken Fried Steak.
Peacock at Reno and Walker(It used to be excellent there until about a year ago, when they apparently went to a different supplier)
Chili's is inconsistent, as has already been pointed out.
Toby Keiths is probably the worst I've had. I've had gas station chicken fried steak that was better.
Ann's', Del Rancho, Kendell's, Toby Keith's, minimal beef, lots of breading. Try Cattleman's Steakhouse, pan fired, just like grandma use to make.
Cracker barrel has a decent chicken fried steak and you can get them across the US.
Anyone remember Texanna Reds? Oh man, they had awesome Chx Fry. The damn thing covered the entire plate, they'd just stack the potatoes, fires or other side order on top of it. There was never any grizzle and it was amazingly good. Man I miss that place.
Any place as good as the old Texanna Reds?
I really liked Texanna Reds but never had the chicken fry.
