Default 10 Albums I Would Take to a Desert Island

Six months ago or six months from now these selections might be very different. Today, in no particular order, my choices would be:

    1. Revolver - Beatles
    2. American Beauty - Grateful Dead
    3. Stone Roses - Stone Roses
    4. Electric Ladyland - Hendrix
    5. At Carnegie Hall 1938 - Benny Goodman
    6. Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
    7. Kiko - Los Lobos
    8. Symphony # 9, Deutsche Grammophon version - L van Beethoven
    9. Highway 61 Revisited - Bob Dylan
    10. Take It From The Man - Brian Jonestown Massacre

Good choice. I could live on that island. I'll get back with my top ten.

Saw your Exiles (excellent album, best sax solo ever, "Rip This Joint") and realized there were no Stones on my list. If not Exiles, then Beggar's Banquet.

"Beggar's Banquet" excellent choice. I wouldn't mind if Europe 72-GD washed ashore either.

Sounds like a decent list; where you go towards country I veer towards jazz though. Good music is just good music.

I've got some Miles, but he's not my favorite jazz artist. I lean more toward the great sax players like Charlie "Bird" Parker, Lester "the President" Young, and Dexter Gordon. I have about six albums (78rpm, 4 records to an "album") of Norman Granz' 13 volume "Jazz at the Philharmonic" set. These were recorded live in the late '40s... just some incredible jamming.

The island is simply going to have to get bigger. After looking at my list, it was depressing to note that i would never be able to hear Francis Albert Sinatra again, CCR, the Guess Who, Heart, Tony Bennet, Annie Lennox, Elton John, Journey, Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle,Garth, etc, etc, etc.

My day is now ruined and its only noon.

As far as the Pixies go I would hate to pick any single one, my favorite changes from month to month. Been listening to Bossanova lately, Cecilia Ann is one of my favorite opening tracks for any album.
