I had outgrown bicycles before I ever heard of or saw a chopper. I m REAL old.
I wonder what Gen/64 did to hop up his stick horse "Trigger" We know he used a leather belt for a bridle and a mop head for the mane!! Maybe he left it just like that and used it to round up those "Sheep" that he was always so fond of!!! Hmmmmmmm!! He may have went ahead and put a high goose neck on it with a set of Dallas handle bars, but a Pearson seat, I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm out of this picture, I was married and making Mortgage payments...Sold me Bicycle long before that....that's really a lie, some Capitol Hill Thug stole my Bicycle and put me a foot before I got my first car......Which by the way......
DESCRIBE your First REAL car....Mine was a 1951 four door chevy that had ACME Cleaners on the side....Gave $65.00 for it had it three weeks before the Village Idiot and I blew a rod in it....Radio still worked though...
TERIOKC....Where are you????? Are you still O.K.???? Still commuting to Dallas on Saturdays to get your braces tightened?.....This Thread (that you started) has even gotten East Coast Okies to move back to the area just so they can meet this "rowdy" bunch......We still miss you and wonder if you aren't teasing us about being an Okie....GEN/64....But, we still LOVE you....
Mine was a four door '51 Studebaker. I gave it "class" by removing all the chrome and spraypainting black primer around the areas so it would look like it was in the process of being "customized." I swiped one of the little masonite Out of Order signs off of a washing machine in a laundramat to hang where the grill had been. In our Class Will, I left the honor of having the sharpest car at Grant to Dickie Filler (class of '61) who had about a 1950 Willis.
You know, when you are in the 8th Grade and you see all of those "OLD" Guys and their cars you just are amazed. I know Bobby Atherton had the best looking purple '50 model (I think) lowered Chevy in the world. My Sister (1 year younger than you) had a '54 Ford Convertible her Junior year......I was mesmerized by the cars the guys and gals had.....But then, I was an 8th Grader....and I remember the old Studebaker,,,,,
Mine never got any cool pin stripes like the REALLY cool cars. Bobby's was minimal and tasteful. JUST the right amount. The front of his frame was an inch off the ground. Sparks flew and some dips he simply HAD to avoid. Dips in the road, silly, not THAT kind of dips.
My mother was the manager at Potter's when you guys were "Cruisin" back in your days....Bobby ran off the Curb one night and got High-Center....My Mom told me about it and I almost sick thinking she meant he had totaled that car out.....Next day at school there she sat.....(the Car did)
Whoops, haven't done this in a long time and that answer went in the wrong place.
A 1969 Ford fastback Torino Red on Red with the cool white stripe, the big ole 390 was fast as lightning! But of course I had left off my bike not soon before I got the car....and shhhh was driving around the city at 15.
I just made a post on Facebook for other people who grew up in south OKC to come to this site and read our posts. Maybe get some "new blood" on here with new memories!!

Thanks:...........I just hung up the telephone from ordering a wreath for you....We miss you girl.....You're the only one that keeps this place organized....
Jellen was by the other day....think she's lost again though....Now, what's "Facebook"???
LOL!! I told you.... I have drained my brain and shared all the memories that I have on here!! But now that I've forgotten some of them, I could re-post them and since you are older you won't even remember that they are re-hashes!!!! Just kidding.....
Facebook is a social network that everyone is on nowdays.... besides you I guess. LOL!!! Even ole Prunepicker is on it.
~~~
Shoot, I just figured this one out. Just let us know every now and then that you are O.K. I started to send out the dogs but they told me it was too cold....Re-Post.....Tell us about YOUR episodes in the Twilight Zone.....
