I thought it was, "yo can trust that your car will be stopped by the man who
wears a star." Wasn't it something about the highway patrol?

Broderick Crawford. If you mean his character's name, it was something Matthews.

I edited my original response after re-reading your question(s). I think his character was something Matthews. And the car, jeez. I wanna say a 57 Fairlane but maybe some kind of Chrysler?

    Hey, all.
I didn't see this commerical mentioned, (though I may have missed it)> I remember this one coming on constantly in the 80s. It definitely brings back some memories:

Gotta be careful using Wikipedia since it is not considered a reliable source.

Here is an article from Slash/Dot reguarding the accuracy of wikipedia:

Nature magazine recently conducted a head-to-head competition between Wikipedia and Britannica, having experts compare 42 science-related articles. The result was that Wikipedia had about 4 errors per article, while Britannica had about 3. However, a pair of endevouring Wikipedians dug a little deeper and discovered that the Wikipedia articles in the sample were, on average, 2.6 times longer than Britannica's - meaning Wikipedia has an error rate far less than Britannica's."

Granted these tests were done in 2005, and only on science articles, but the
    accuracy compares favoribly.

This was actually on several news services when it was published.
