I've been a firm supporter of both firefighters and police officers, especially since I have close relatives who are both (although in different cities). I'm not unsympathetic to their wants and needs. I've supported EVERY previous request for more funding, including the 3/4¢ public safety tax added years ago. So I was profoundly disappointed in their unions' very active and very public opposition to this MAPS proposal. They've thumbed their noses at the very community that has supported them so much in the past. And I look forward to the opportunity to express that opinion to the donation solicitor. God knows the unions won't listen.
I probably have, but not as many times as you have this one. It had nothing to do with bothering me, because it didn't bother me. I just wanted to let you know your message had been received. If you think it bears further repeating then by all means I would urge you to do just that. Mr. Neese, please, don't think for a second that you owe me an apology, because you don't. There is a strange irony to this if you think about it. We have supported every previous tax and bond request as you have until this one so it stands to reason that one withdraw of support deserves another.

We can know we paid for the future generations to have something new.

    I love NOT being greedy.
Maybe someday the City will honor your steller citizenship, good deeds, and act of kindness and name the park after you.

I could care less who they name the park after, as long as we have one. Andy, they could name it after you and I wouldn't care. However, I do think it's more appropriate to name it after someone who actually voted for it.

I think it should be Ralph Ellison Park or Redbud Park.

Incidentally, I was #85 at First Methodist downtown around noon.

I loooove Ralph Ellison Park. I'd be fine with Norick Park as well, since he was the person who had the vision which started MAPS.

    He's already got the library.

And speaking of Ellison: does anyone know where his birthplace home was? Seems like it should be a historic site if not a full-blown museum.

Sorry that was really off topic.

Where should we look for up-to-the-second election returns tonight online? The State Election Board website doesn't seem to have a place for today's election.

Looks like news9.com has a meter on their home page to track votes as they come in.

Anyone else know of streaming video/election results online?
