Thread: OKC loses CVG (DL) [Air] | + Current Route Structure

  1. #1

Default OKC loses CVG (DL) [Air] | + Current Route Structure

A round of CVG [Cincinnati/Covington International Airport] cuts have been announced, along with this round of cuts OKC will lose it's service to CVG.

This is not a very big deal as we will be gaining the seats to DTW [Detroit] and MSP [Minneapolis/St. Paul].

As far as the CVG service is concerned - they are 50 seats each way that we haven't needed.

Other affected airports include: DSM [Des Moine, IA], YUL [Montreal, Canada], PVD [Providence, RI], and TRI [Tri-City, TN]. These cuts will be removed from the schedule Monday, and the service will last until 10FEB2010.

As of right now, this is our entire non stop air service out of OKC for 10FEB2010+:

    SLC - SALT LAKE CITY
    DEN - DENVER
    LAS - LAS VEGAS MCCARREN
    LAX - LOS ANGELES
    PHX - PHOENIX SKY HARBOR
    MCO - ORLANDO MCCOY
    TPA - TAMPA
    DFW - DALLAS FT WORTH
    DAL - DALLAS LOVE
    HOU - HOUSTON HOBBY
    IAH - HOUSTON GEORGE BUSH
    MEM - MEMPHIS
DTW - DETROIT METROPOLITAN WAYNE COUNTY
    MSP - MINNEAPOLIS ST PAUL
    EWR - NEWARK
    ATL - ATLANTA HARTSFIELD JACKSON
    BWI - BALTIMORE
    IAD - WASHINGTON DULLES
    STL - ST LOUIS
    MCI - KANSAS CITY (MO)
    ORD - CHICAGO O'HARE

Mods, go ahead and merge it (or delete it but allow me to make the post in the other thread). I am fairly new here and did not know about the existing thread.

that list is interesting as one of the "challenges" the chamber's convention center study showed was we came up short in non-stop flights...

Well, it also needs to be noted that all of those destinations are hubs or strong connection cities, the two exceptions being MCO (Orlando McCoy) and TPA (Tampa).

This reduction is less about OKC not being able to support it and Delta now having too many hubs in the same geographic area.
