You're kidding did that really happen?

I heard Les Nesman report this on WKRP in Cincinatti.

Like Prune, I dinna know this ever really happened in our state. But I remember that episode from WKRP when their mythical lil' band of Lonnie Anderson worshipers and Johhny Fever toker/jokers were on the air. Was a fun episode.

yes, it did happen and they probably got the idea from WKRP Radio series. I told them that they would not fly....And about four or five just went "PLOP"....Smashed Turkey Sandwiches.....Couple of them made it but they were chased all over the neighborhood....Same way on an Easter Egg Drop...They dropped a bunch of Plastic Eggs from a Helicopter over by Reding....imagine how the current from the Rotor Blades did to those eggs....
    Whish....Away they went....

Do you guys remember when TG&Y (74th st) had Trout fishing on the parking lot???......"Bulldog" on this thread and I were joking around with management and said we ought to figure a way to have a live fishing tournament....Two weeks later we got a call from a company in AVA, Missouri and they were on their way with a live trout tank.......How many people that are reading this realize that in July in Oklahoma the water is a bit warm????actually very HOT...Trout have to have cool or cold water. I order a trailer truck load of block ice to cool that tank down.....we all laughed. the customers had a great time and it was a success....Sure was a lot of Ice though....HEY WE'RE OFFICIALLY OVER 100 PAGES NOW...YEE-HAW...

Something that has not been discussed was the outdoor parking lot Circus rides taht would make it in the shopping centers around town. I remember one that came about every 90 days to the Airline Shopping Center. That ride that was like a Swing that went around and around was a bit tough on the old stomach. Especially if you were watching when someone else Up-Chucked their lunch...Whew............Never mind.....

There used to be one in Norman that set up on Main along the railroad tracks. Usually in April.

I live near Yukon, they one have every year on the first Saturday of October for Czech Fest. Mustang seems to have one 2 or 3 times a years.

BTW, when I was stationed in Germany in the 70's, we had one of these carnivals on our post one year, I went to it and ran into a guy I went to Capital Hill HS with. Small world.

In the 60s if you talked to the carnies when the fair first opened they would give you one of the really big stuffed animals free...if you would walk around the fair all day and tell people where you had easily "won" it.

Born and raised north side - more accurately the lower east Britton ghetto, up the street from the old Gridiron Drive In - now Earl's on Western. Became a southsider from about 1967 to 1969 and made a lot of friends. Hung out at The Spot, Al & Dub's, etc. along with Hollie's and Quick's. Burned a tanker load of gas up and down Classen, Western, Penn... Worked for a year at Little Jim's at almost every location, must mostly at Linwood & Virginia and on S. Central. Tough enough for ya? Kiddin, but not much.

    Friends:
Once again, I will not be able to attend. I will be going in to work today in about an hour. I'm having a routine preventative medical procedure on Monday and won't be working, so I simply have to work this weekend. (it's terrible being that important to a company, but someone has to run things! ;-0...

To Jimbo: I'd say you probably knew my two older sisters, but they hung out at Al & Dub's a few years earlier (their names are Shirley and Sharon, but USG grads, early 60s).

General: Remember, the Dana Delaney deal was the early 90's long spiral curled Dana. Good ol' Dana has aged a little. :-) Teri/Dana hit the big 5-0 on Nov. 12. Ouch! AND...one last thing...I hate root beer and my Coit's regular is a #14 with cheese.

Will the next get together be in December?

Tends to set up shop at the Cleveland County fairgrounds now, on E Robinson, just a wee bit east of where Porter crosses Robinson. Still in April for 89'r days.

Seems like there is at least one other crew's tour that comes through each year as well. Not fitting such rides for some time, I don't pay a lot of attention to when they come and go.

Gen64 had a medical emergency. That's why wasn't there and way we
couldn't get in touch with him.

Tallgirl brought her beautiful Mustang and the guys were drooling. Frisky has
a mint condition Yugo. All the girls were crazy about it.

Best of all Mom showed up!

Hope it wasn't too serious. I hope he can make it next month...we were a little short on U.S. Grant Generals this time.

Gen64.... I was about to ground you for 2 weeks for not showing up, but then I heard you had an emergency... so you're forgiven. Love, Mom

Had a good time, new faces, good conversation... and then Frisky took me for a spin in his new bright yellow Corvette! It was groovy man!!!
