Meals Taken Away From Edmond Senior Citizens

Edmond cries foul after DHS cuts it's senior nutrition program site. DHS saved $53,000 as part of it's 7.4 million dollar budget cut. At the same time, DHS gave nearly $200,000 worth of salary raises to its employees. The agency says the raises were planned years ago to boost salaries to the level of other states.

I really hate to hear this....I mean, good for the employee pay raises, but sad for the Senior Citizens meal program....

So, lets say you and your co-worker were hired the same day. You do 20%more work than your co-worker does and the quality of your work is better than your co-worker. When annual review time comes and your pay is set at the same level as your co-worker despite your superior productivity, you will be happy and won't complain?

Yeah, that works great for the crappy school teachers we have that have been there forever.

And on Edit: This does NOT say that all who have taught a long time are crappy school teachers, so do NOT misquote me.

Or is it that you really have no idea what capitalism is or what it is really like to live in a socialistic society? Take a few months and head on over to Pyongyang or Havana and see what socialism and equality of the masses gets you. No matter how badly you want to see your "Shangri La" world, there is no substitution for freedom.

Why? Where's he supposed to get the money? Should he take it away from child protective services? From road construction? From where?

Just about anyone you could ask would tell you that our current Treasurer has done a damn fine job.
