Chicken and beer in Bricktown? Anybody know anything about this? I've tried to search the site here and can't find anything. Is this a chain?

Another sports bar that also sells fried chicken, ala the late Half-Time Sports Bar and Grill in the old Varsity.
If they can mimic Eischen's I'll be a fan. It would actually be genius to open an Eischen's in Bricktown. I hate driving all the way to Okarchee.
They are a bunch of late 20's/early 30's entrepreneurs. Nice people. I don't know too much other than that... Chicken and beer seem to be their business model.
Now, where are the people who always say "This place won't make it 4 months" anytime a new business opens up down there...
I don't think Metro is logged in tonight.
they gonna have taters & rolls, or even some veggies, to go with that chikin?
Actually I think this is a concept that would work well downtown, as long as the overhead wasn't too much. Being in Bricktown, it's hard to say how much they are paying in overhead. Can you clarify where this is located, I saw above where you mentioned the old Varisty spot, is that correct? I thought America's Pub was in that spot now. I hang in MidTown more than Bricktown so I haven't seen Roosters yet. In regard to your comment, I just call places like I see them, about half don't plan well logistically, other places I go to and they operate almost flawlessly.
I was referring to Half-time having done the chicken and beer bit in the old Varsity. Roosters is going into the Wells Fargo building (last home to Boone's General Store).
As for the other comment, it was a cheap but fun shot at your expense. People mock me for focussing too much on downtown, people mock you on your tough standards for restaurants, and people mock Doug Loudenback for being Doug.
Thanks. I thought you were referring to just the "Half Time concept" but wasn't sure. That building would be perfect for a hole in the wall place selling beer and chicken. They MUST market well and advertise AND be able to keep their overhead down. I think this is a good fit for downtown IF they execute well.
"if" - that's a small but very critical word to use.
time frame for opening?
web presence?
any other additional information?
whut can I say. I likes chickin
It says, "Now hiring" on the front of the building, and the previous sign said it's opening in October. They were working on it on Sunday morning, so hopefully soon.
any chance this is the same people that have the roosters chicken place in hennessey?
I am so excited to eat there when they are open. I know it will be soon. I went by there and got the scoop. They are serving Chicken and Okra and of course Beer. You cant have hot yummy chicken without a cold beer. Or maybe a YUMMY glass of Sweet Ice Tea( which they will have also).
The Tv's in the place are sick. You wont miss a thing on those screens. Which makes watching the UFC or NFL all the better.
Ok I better stop now, I am making my self HUNGRY.
Roosters Chicken and Beer will be a HIT in Bricktown and the staff im sure will be easy on the eyes.
Sounds like a modern Eischen's! I hope the chicken is close to as good. I always thought it would be fun to buy that place and turn it into an icehouse. Hope this one goes well!
Nothing will beat Eischens.. no way. They have special recipe and they have been doing it for years and years and years. Roosters will do really good if they have really cold beer!
anyone been to this new chicken place in bricktown? Heard they serve like Eischen's but that the chicken was salty.
Didn't realize it was open yet. http://www.okctalk.com/food-restaura...-roosters.html
I might go this weekend. It depends if I have someone else to go with. I'll take pics and give a review.
If it's open, I'll go saturday.
ouch!
Nevermind, I won't be going this weekend.
So far my friends give it a big 2 thumbs down. The chicken is mediocre, the service is incredibly slow. Someone said it reminded them of a lower class Hooters and he told them to "shut the f up." They asked their server who he was and they said it was the owner. WOW.
That's only opinion though. If any of you go, I would like to hear what you think. Then I will decide if I want to try it for myself or not. I avoid bricktown at all costs so unless it's fantastic I won't be going.
