Thread: OU Games

  1. Default Re: OU Games

So about that over hyped Miami team. lol

  2. Default Re: OU Games

The Sooners can't seem to be able to complete long passes. Their strength is not as they used to be. And that one touchdown they got was from the lucky flag when refs assumed the kicker was under attack.

  3. Default Re: OU Games

Well we know the problem is not at QB...the problem is the QB has no support what so ever. Either way, time to move on. Big 12 play is more important now that the pressure of the nat'l title is totally gone.

    yea, you are probably right.

and i agree with you venture, the problem really wasnt landry jones.

The one thing that keep sticking with me is the 3 run plays in a row when we were on thier 20 something yardline. Frustrating.

Folks, we lost to two pretty respectible teams by a total of 2 points. We lost our Heisman QB, we lost the best TE in college football and we lost our only dependable receiver. This is still a very good team that is going to have to get really creative offensively and fast. Can't pass when you don't have time to set up.

mugofbeer, this system they use doesn't care about all of that. All it cares is the W and L to figure out the teams for the bowl games.

When you have the kind of injuries they have had this year, it just ain't your season. You have to be both good AND lucky to even compete for the title. In 2000 they were lucky when it came to injuries, this year not so much.

I was surprised they came back the way they did with Broyles out of there since no other receivers have seemed to step up. I didn't watch the game, we were listening to it on Sirius running around Idaho Springs/Vail and heading back to Denver.

The championship is long gone. The Big 12 is still there but unless the defense plays an outstanding game, Texas is going to be incredibly tough to beat this year. Even if Bradford is back, he still has to have an open receiver and that receiver still has to make the catch. No one has stepped up so far less a minor push by Caleb

It makes me sick the way things have been going for the SOONERS but, I will be a fan until the day I die and longer.... Or untill they quit playing football at the University of Oklahoma . Which one do you think will come first?

  14. Default Re: OU Games

Why would it make you "sick?" Its a game. The Sooners have had more than their share of good luck during the seasons and more than their share of bad luck during the bowls - and yeah, some out-coaching. Its a rebuilding year but they can still do pretty well if someone steps up and catches some passes.

I'd hate to say.....lol. Depends on if the world ends in 2012. I'm sooner born and sooner bred too, and when I die I'll be sooner dead.

I'd imagine that it makes Gen70 "sick" because its an incredible strech of bad luck this season. As for this being a rebuilding year......it didn't start out that way. We started the season with a heisman trophy winning QB who went out in the first game, we lost the best TE in the country for the entire seacon (Gresham), we just lost Broyles for the rest of the season, and now I hear that 12 players missed practice due to the flu yesterday. So the year started out as anything BUT a rebuilding year, but its turned into one....kinda. More like a salvage the season with whomever is left standing season. Got any Duct tape? If there is one bright side its that OU will have returning players with some experience next season.

Next years schedule includes Florida St (with a new coach?) in Norman and at Cincinnati which is looking very good so far this year.

Im not giving up on this year yet though. A Big XII championship is still possible....though very unlikely. And the NC is still mathmatically possible....but the odds of that are probably about 1,000,000 to 1. Remember LSU went with two losses a few years ago. I know.....I'm an eternal optimist. Besides it gives us a chance to see players mature that we never thought we'd see this season.

    Boomer!!

So, let's suppose Bradford comes in and gets OU a nice lead, would you take him out at the half and let Landry get some playing time, just to be safe and conservative for Sam's shoulder, but also to help Landry get as much experience as possible? I would, but that's just me.

If Bradford plays with a good rhythm, then I could see him sitting sometime in the second half. He needs the work with the new receivers, I think that is the key thing they are looking at.

Well..I quess "unhappy" or "disappointed" just doesn't do it for me.

  20. Default Re: OU Games

Sam's back and we'll see how strong he is against the Baylor.

  21. Default Re: OU Games

Sam looked a little rusty at times, other was spot on. But oh...receivers receivers receivers. Learn to catch a ball. Oh well. Next weekend may be an amazing time to catch a movie. I don't see how our offense will be able to keep up with Texas is Colt gets cooking. Defense will need to win the game.

nah, so long as they get within FG range 20 or so times, oughta be a cakewalk.

Hoping for the best for the lads though.

Well...at least we got a touchdown today. Other than that.....

  24. Default Re: OU Games

Other than that, OU got busted in the butt by a better team. Its so sad to think of what could have been with a healthy Bradford and a healthy Germaine Gresham. Next year will be another rebuilding year but 2011 will be another great team.

I stopped watching it near the end of 2nd quarter. It was hopeless.
