Thread: Guess who showed up at todays nostalgia meeting...

Default Guess who showed up at todays nostalgia meeting...

In the 60s, who scared you on Friday nights about 11:30pm? It was probably the "Count" on WKY TV's "Shock Theatre".

We had a great time discussing nostalgia with Count Gregore and Elvira. They decided to drop in on the monthly meeting much to our surprise and delight.

I want to be the first to welcome them to OKCTalk and thank them for taking the time to talk with us! I hope you become regulars and share more of your OKC memories with us.

Enjoyed seeing them both at Ronnie Kaye's The Scene Dance Party at the Oklahoma History Center a few weeks ago.

I remember them from decades and decades and decades ago and yet they seemed to look so young...

    ??? How come they don't age ???

I agree, that was a great surprise. Who would have ever thought that the Count would show up for one of our meetings.

So cool to have the Count and Elvira both show. They are officially now members of the group. thanks to them both and i am so sorry you other guys and gals weren't there. I think all of us were in awe when they came in the room and then we all remembered just how "blasted" Scare we would get when the words were spoken....thanks again for being there Count and you to Elvira....Good luck on your campaign.

I used to go to the one at 50th & May quite bit when I lived in the Mayfair area. When we were up there in February we stopped by there on the way out of town, she asked me why I hadn't taken her there before.

No, not a tquila fan, just some RAILEAN Reserve XO Rum from a Galveston Bay distillery.

Just south of 50th on Portland....that was the location that I took her to. I was just a mile off

We are actually going to be up there Halloween weekend, my nephew (6 y.o. PCO Packers) has a football game on Thursday night and we are headed to the OU-KSU game on Saturday.

I want to mention the warm greeting us "true" southsiders gave the local celebrities. It seemed as though they felt at ease and at home with every one of us. Very proud of the 'class' southsiders showed to our unexpected guests.

Which Sound Warehouse were you working in, and what years if I may ask? I was at #1 (101) starting in 1989.

Ah, way before I came along then! I think Liz and Jay were around then, weren't they? Two of my favorite managers in my retail years.
