Thread: Bakery Treats

    Default Bakery Treats

Some of you have made some suggestions as to where to find delightful sweet treats but I can't find them. Thought we could put them all in one place.

I love love La Baguette bakery on N. May for my fruit tarts, cream puffs, and cake slices. I like being able to walk in, look at what they have made that day in their bakery, and being able to buy individual pieces or in bulk. Plus their cheese and breads are wonderful.

    Where else do you recommend?

I second Ingrid's but not just for cookies. Lots of goodies there, cream horns, eclairs, cakes, pies, all really good. Try G.P.'s BBQ Grill out by Surrey Hills. They have great carrot cake, Coca-Cola cake, sweet potato pie, chocolate pie, cheese cake.

I looked for Prairie Thunder last weekend. Couldn't find it.

I don't like cupcakes or cookies or cake so that makes it difficult. I like pastries, tarts, brownies, and fudge.

    Pastries & Tarts:
Ingrids (36th & Youngs), west of Penn

Prairie Thunder (in the Plaza building in MidTown next to the YMCA, between Irma's and McNellies)

La Baguette on May is also a great stand-by for pastries

Agree with most of the above (La baguette, Ingrids, Raspberries & Cream). I'd also add Browns Bakery, Clarks Bakery, Market C, Sara Sara, and Stella Bakes to my list.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I haven't been in a while. I did hear they moved though, so maybe that is the old location?

Kolache Kitchen is across the street from my office, I was just there last week. I haven't heard anything about them moving. I did see a sign advertising sushi, but didn't have time to ask about it.

My suggestions for bakery treats: ND Foods. Their speciality is fruit pies but they've always got wonderful cakes, as well as cupcakes, cookies, creme horns, and pastries. I've always stood by La Baguette as being one of the best pastry shops in the area but now that I've tried ND Foods a few times, I think I may have found a new favorite!

as far as i know Kolache Kitchen is not moving. He shares his space with a guy that does Sushi in the afternoons, when they aren't using the space.

we have kolaches delivered to Vintage from Kolache Kitchen, the sausage & cheese or the sausage & cheese & jalapeno. also they bring us Pizza, Sante Fe Chicken and Turkey Club sandwich kolaches.

and for those who like Brown's Bakery, we have their muffins, scones, bagels and cinnamon knots delivered to us, also.
