13 cents? Not if Buster has any say LOL!

You two guys disappoint me...Did you realize then that the good balls on the driving range would bring a quarter each even then. The diving I guess I just thought it finders...Keepers...The golfers (Duffers) would give 10 cents for each wet ball. I caddied out there one summer and kinda sold balls to the golfers I caddied for....After a day of caddying I always felt I needed to take a dip in the pond (Country Boy) found those balls...cleaned them up that night and sold them then next day...............Hmmmmmm

Southside lost an icon this morning. Paul Newsom lost his fight with cancer. He was a Southeast guy who became a TV spokesman and had a sports show on TV.

I'm in search of a photo of Stewart-Wood Pharmacy that was located at 44th & Shields. My folks met there in 1953 and married later that year. They remained married until last summer (2008) when we lost my father to cancer. I would so much like to include a photo of the store in his memoirs.

Building is there but they stripped the signs and such off the front. I'll by and see if there is anything left to show it was Stewart- Wood. If so I'll get a pic and post it.

    I grew up at 32nd and S Western...Memories

White Water- I had a season pass the first 4 years it was open

Redding Square- GodFathers Pizza, Mazzio's Pizza, Dotson's or some cafeteria, The movie theatre, The really long sidewalk in front of TG&Y and Otasco the we always rode our bikes on until the store owners yelled at us, there used to be tiny little Kodak buildings where you could drop off film,Wendy's when they first opened and had that blacktop that when wet was like ice....I fell many times there on my bike, Sears and the gas station at sears...neither of which ever had customers. Sears did have an Atari display so we used to live there and play the games until the manager unplugged the games, there used to be a game room in reding square that served ice creame and frito chili pies.

Jamaica Joes- Everyone hung out there in the 80's and do burn outs in the parking lot before cruising to 12th street in Moore or Air Depot in Midwest City...everyone bragged about their car until "The NightStalker" (Camaro) showed up...he was supposed to be the fastest around

There was a Burrito stand about the size of a small RV on 51st and Western that sold the biggest and best burrito's around.

Suicide Park- Some creek bed area near 59th and Walker that we used to ride our bikes in and had some great hills

You mean they are tearing down the pawn shop which used to be a grocery store? They built a car lot on the n.w. corner where the church was. Have to check it out............

It seems like not long ago it was almost impossible to find a parking place at Sears.

I went to high school with Vickie Parker Stewart.....I'll contact her and see if they might have a picture of the store. I'll also look in my old yearbooks... might be one in there with the advertising in the back. I'll let you know.

    Visit capitolhill.alumniclass.com

This should get you there. Or just enter capitol hill alumni. They have info about members, reunions, products....................

SouthSide Girl knows a place here in the city. Could save you shipping cost. Or, if two, three or more want to buy shipping stays the same and you could split it.
I was worried about the color (maroon) but was impressed when the shirts came. great color. I am usually buying "crimson and creme!" Know how many versions of crimson there are? If you want to check with SouthSide Girl send her a private email through this site. Her home computer is down so she won't get it until Monday at work.
I talked with CHHS before I ordered these about what the school may have available. Because it was near end of school year they had nothing but would let me know when the 2009-2010 school year begins. But I doubt if you could get an alumni t shirt through them.

If you have problems let me know.

Going to order? Let me know first because there is one other person wanting to order and maybe a 3rd. Might as well split the shipping.
