Thread: Dirty Water Coffee Company

  1. Default Dirty Water Coffee Company

Dirty Water Coffee Company....What a name if it's a coffee place....Looks like it's about to open up for business in north okc. Located at 2149 Barclay Road off N.W. Expressway and Rockwell. I was wondering if anybody knew what this place was? Is it worth trying? Seems odd that a coffee place would take shop when Starbucks is just down the street. Any information would be most appreciated.

    Linze!

Dirty water? Hmm, it might turn people off since they might think they only have dirty water there

They adverstise their catering services all the time on the radio. There quote is " You provide us the space and electricity we bring everything else."

They've been around for awhile now. Not sure if they have other stores, but I know they've catered for awhile. They catered one of my friends weddings a few weeks ago. They have awesome coffee and other drinks (similar to starbucks).

Hey guys, I'm new here, but I work at Dirty Water, and as of right now, we are solely a coffee and smoothie catering company, but that could change very soon. I know I didn't have a whole lot to offer that had not already been stated, I just wanted to chime in. You all should definitely give us a try sometime, it's a blast for all parties involved.

Hope it does well. I have to admit, hearing your commercials on the radio, my first impression was what were they thinking. Would you eat at the "Rotten Meat Steak House" or "Spoiled Cheese Pizza Parlor". Just a thought. Good Luck

The name reminds me of that Mad Cow hamburger place that was open somewhere on meridian when I was going to college.

That was a great place by the City Bites people.

MadCow was on MacArthur and NW 38th, not Meridian. I have no problem with Dirty Water's name, I see the creativity in it, I think the analogies above aren't quite the same.

Same here. Afterall, coffee & tea are nothing but 'dirty water'.

Sorry. I knew it was somewhere in that area. It just reminded me of Dirty Water Coffee because you don't want to drink coffee made with dirty water and you don't want to eat a burger made with mad cow meat. I think the names are great. I would go to either place without thinking twice.

As someone stated, Coffee and tea are just dirty water, but also it has to do with the owners last name. It seems like a whole lot more people like our name, b/c we are always complimented on it, but I understand the caution that people may take b/c of it

Mad Cow had great burgers.....one of the popular burger places down here in Austin is Dirty Martin's Kum-Bak Place. It is on The Drag by the UT campus and has been in Austin since 1926. The "dirty" part of the name came from a dirt floor which it had until 1951, it had limited inside dining until then, it was mainly operated as a drive-in until that time.

Report of today's event and service:

For Public Employee Recognition day, our agency sprung for catered service by Dirty Water Coffee Co. I have to say - the product was great and the one person preparing drinks worked his hiney off, but it was a bit slow.

According to our Admin officer who arranged- they charged by the hour and promised 60 drinks prepared per hour. The second hour was cheaper than the first - the average was about $3 per concoction. We had a choice of a multitude of smoothies, hot or cold coffee creations, etc - see menu at web site. The drinks were in 8 oz. cups and the whipped cream was heaped over top of cup.

Overall, I thought it was good but we could have used another server. Not Dirty Water Coffee Company fault - agency didn't want to spring for the extra - they'd rather eat the time.

Just noticed that the Dirty Water Coffee Company is opening a new location off S.W. 119th and May next door to the China Delight place. Which is perfect because I know a lot of people at the local church in that area who would love to have a catered service for a special church event.

My Bad! Sorry for the confusion. I did finally noticed that the place that I mention above is going to be something called Scotty's. The sign says sandwiches, gelato, and pastries. If anybody knows anything about this feel free to pass it along.

    Thanks!
