Thread: Chick-Fil-A grand opening

  1. Default Chick-Fil-A grand opening

I haven't seen this posted yet. But I wanted to pass along that the new Chick-Fil-A in moore will make it's grand opening Feb.4. And the first...um...100...I believe will get coupons for free food for a year. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This is second-hand information from a friend Either way, it's free food. And I don't mind standing in line.

    All the Best,
    Linze

Linze, probably so. The first 100 promotion has been a long tradition. My sister and I were one of the first 100 at the NW Expressway and Rockwell store. This was a couple years back in near zero temperatures and ice all over the place. We had to camp out for wayyyyyyy to long. Worst part about it was, the sprinklers came on and soaked everyone and then it turned to more ice. Stupid experience, but hey in the end we got a free Chick-Fil-A combo meal each week for a year, you get 51 coupons, needless to say, mine didn't last the entire year.

    Yep. First 100.

I remember seeing the news coverage and all the people in line freezing that day. It was very early in the morning right? Like 5am or something? Still, coupons, sounds good to me. You can't beat those chicken sandwich combos Yum-O!

If memory serves, they had quite the line in Norman for that promoation when it opened not so very very long ago.

I'm not a big Chik fan, so no line camping for me. Don't dislike their food, it's more than passable. I'm just not willing to camp out for freebie food.

The opening is February 5th. On Thursday. The Southmoore High School Jazz Band and Drumline will be performing there.

ha, yeah we got their at like 9 or 10pm and had to wait until 7am when they opened, some people were out there from noon the day before camping out. I think I was like #98 and my sister was like #99 so we barely got their in time. I imagine since the weather will probably be nicer, people will be out there even earlier.

Looking north. Wednesday morning. The tents are for the people who will be spending the night to be among the first 100 in line.

People are willing to do that for a few free chicken dinners? Unbelievable!

    Lots of cars

    Directing traffic

Ribbon cutting - very well attended even for Moore where
the community turns out to support business openings. Tall
fellow is owner/operator. I'm in this picture somewhere.

First bite of the Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich

    Pom Squad

Band - and they were very good, too.

    South side of building

Sign. The plaque is the development: Fritts Farm

At 5 pm Thursday - pretty busy -

Moorons loves their grub. The Furr's there also remains far more packed on a daily basis than I would have ever anticipated.

And don't shoot me about the Moorons comment. The phrase was used loud and proud and often by younger friends and some folks my own age as they grew up enjoying the community.

They know how to handle a grand opening..Wife chanced it last night even though the line was huge...She was headed back home in under 10 minutes

In other words the same amount of time you spend behind just one car at a Braum's drive thru

19th was a MADHOUSE last night

Chick-fil-a was giving out free sandwiches at the Moore HS basketball game last night. My son is in the band and came home full.

Aw wish they'd done that for the Southmoore game last night. It was homecoming and barely anyone was there. Quite boring. Basketball games are boring overall.
But I'm probably just saying that because there's no marching or anything at halftime..

52 combo meals to be exact. As someone said, given the economy right now, that's worth it to a lot of people. I did it in my college days.

We drove past that place about 1:00pm today and it was a traffic mess. It was packed and there was a line of cars backed up into the street. The idiots waiting in line to turn into the Chick-Fil-A parking lot blocked the road going into Home Depot and wouldn't get out of the way.

Took my daughter there for lunch today. I pulled into the parking lot right at noon today and got lucky and found a spot right away. Was pretty busy inside but I didn't wait longer than a minute in line and my name was called in less than a minute. Good food and even saw the owner buzzing around keeping things clean. I think I'll be going there pretty often.

I would avoid that entire area until school is out. Teenagers can live off those sandwiches.

I went there a few days ago, found a parking spot with no problems and went in there and it only took 5 minutes and went out the door, I think I better go to the one in Norman from now on since it has much better parking but that is just me!

I don't understand all the fuss and the ridiculous lines. The food really isn't that great, IMO. However, I must say, they do run things well there. With all the lines and as busy as it is, the wait is not that bad (the few times I've been).
