There are local bands that did not make it big:
Moby Dick and the Whalers,
The Walker Underpass.
One that at least got some recording time was Alvin Crow and the Pleasant Valley Boys. My favorite tune and on the got the most airplay, "Nyquil Blues"

Yes, Alvin Crow was a SE Spartan...in fact, he graduated with me in my class. He has made a name for himself in Austin, TX at the Broken Spoke. Here's an article about him from the Austin newspaper...

Pretty Miss Norma Jean and her hit tune "Let's go all the Way" Gen/64, I use to eat hot dogs with her when the original "Coney Island" was next door to the State Theater on S. Robinson almost to main st.!!!!!

The Norma Jean I knew was Bachmeyer (spelling). We gigged a lot in the
80's. She was an old standards singer, you know, Misty, Miss Otis Regrets,
Body and Soul, Prunes and Bowels, etc...
I haven't seen her in 20 years. She was one of those people who looked
years younger than they are. A beautiful woman and a very nice voice.
She owned Hoagy's Road House in the basement of the Tiffany House in
the Late 70's and early 80's, that is until some jerk convinced her to move
out to the old "Governor's Club" on NE 63rd. Hoagy's was a great place.

Hey guy, do you want one of those Uniform jackets....Coynes bought fifty of them for the video shoot and I have maybe sixty left over.......It's the same jacket...exactly....Let me know....I gave the manager at Earl's Ribs one of them and they have it on modest display.....along with the jacket cover of the Flaming Lips with them on.....
