I just returned from Boston yesterday and noticed some development going on in the old Buick dealership on Broadway (next to the Oklahoman Building).

Rand Elliott is the buildings current owner, so if any of you have any connection to him or E+A, try to find out any information.

It looks like it might be an upscale restaurant or club, or possibly retail. I haven't heard of the concept 'NINE'. I don't believe it has any connection to N9NE (www.n9ne.com), a fine dining restaurant/bar in Chicago and Vegas, because the signage is very different.

Regardless of the product, it will be a great development (as all E+A projects are), and will bring life again to one of Oklahoma City's beautiful historic buildings.

I hate to burst the bubble but FYI I talked to E+A and all it is, is that the owner is throwing a private party tonight. NO development will be taking place as of now and the building is still on the market....

Just an update on the private party.

The party was in honor of Rand Elliott (principal of Elliott+Associates), who had won his ninth(get it, NINE?

) award from the American Institute of Architecture. He won for his design of the Ackerman McQueen office in London. (Link to project: http://www.e-a-a.com/commercial/am_intl.html )

Pretty impressive. Kudos to Mr. Elliott!

Beautiful Building...

With those big windows somebody needs to be doing some window shopping. Automobile Alley has always reminded me of Colorado Street in Pasadena. It's a historic avenue just like Automobile Alley except most of the buildings have been converted into trendy restaurants, shops and even "mall" style stores like Gap and Crate & Barrell. Plus, there are palm trees but I don't think there's much we can do about that.
