The Kodiak in Tulsa was good but the one in OKC was a disappointment. The building on Memorial was dismantled and moved to Colorado before the bank was built.

Dodson's Cafeteria had the most awesome veal cutlets, mashed potatoes, and cream gravy, and hotrolls........along with chocolate ice-box pie...alas...

The Furr's in the Shields Mall is, I think, still a cafeteria style and is amazingly still open. They built one of their AYCE concepts in Moore, and I hate it.

Boomerang is not gone. I think they closed down a northside location a few months back, but the one on S Western @ 89th is going strong...

Furr's is still open at NW 63rd and N May. Millionaire Pie! It's still great!

I'm gonna have to add Grandy's on Air Depot and Reno in MWC.

They closed once, and now that they were back after Boomerang closed, it is now closed again. That place was doing so good, so it is a shame to see them gone...again.

    Can't imagine ever missing Grandy's.
Although not OKC, two places in Norman I still miss are the old Town Tavern and Po Folks, and especially Po Folks.

Well, I like to eat there. I believe the menu #6 is the one I always get. It the one with grilled chicken and rice and the sides is both mashed potatoes topped with gravy. Don't forget the unlimited rolls, always enjoy that.

The other Grandy's around the metro seem to be going strong.

I grew up in OKC and now live in the Midwest US. Is the pancake house at May and Grand Blvd. still there? Heard Queen Anne cafeteria closed, that is sad. Went there all the time as a kid with my Grandparents, it was good too! I remember the xylophone the cashier would play when someone needed there tray carried. When going through Tulsa in recent years I always stopped at Johnnies, cause it reminded me of the one in the village that I went to as a kid as well. I lived right up the road from it. Well the one in Tulsa is closed now. Is the one in the village on Britton Rd. still there? By the way, I agree that Crystals was awesome too. Ate at the one on NW Expressway and Rockwell alot in the 80's.

How about Fire Mountain? I know the one at Penn & Memorial closed, I think there was another - anyone know if they are still around?

The one just west of I-40 and MacArthur is still open.

Lin's, the Chinese Restaurant next door, is kicking Fire Mountain's %$&*@.

Fire Mountain had better step it up a couple of notches.

All the Village Inn's in the OKC area have closed, but the ones in Tulsa are still open. I also forgot to mention Shoney's. The ones in Oklahoma have closed, but they are open other places. I've lived in the area all my life and can't recall a breakfast place at Grand and N May Avenue.

We're stacked better was their slogan.

I worked at the Sound Warehouse next door, it was across Country Club Drive where Starbucks is. It closed in the mid-to-late 80's and was several other restaurants over the years.

Not surprising. I ate at the other one recently and it's nowhere near as good as Golden Corral or Hometown Buffet.

It was directly north of Sound Warehouse. There was a big clock on the
    front of the restaurant.

Did Girlies have the putting green inside? I know one version of a restaurant at that building had a putting green right in the middle but not sure which. Anyone remember?

You are so right, I had forgotten about The Girlie Pancake House.A buffet place went in there later. I just live a few blocks south of the old Sound Warehouse. I used to go there when it was The Lakeside Theatre way back when. Dr Newcomb, a local dentist owned the theatre, and had his practice in the same building. Those were the days.
