I will be there! Thanks guys for taking up the slack for me. Seems like all I've been doing lately is going to funerals and working on stuff for some SE class reunions. Have been missing posting on here......maybe I'll get back in the groove!

I danced at the Lion's Center on S. Robinson when I was in the 6th grade (1962). My mom would take me and my "neighborhood boyfriend" in her station wagon and drop us off....his mom would pick us up later in her station wagon. I remember slow dancing to "Put Your Head On My Shoulder" and "What's Your Name".....boy, those were the days! Love those Doo Wop songs!!

    Cool Re: Southside OKC Memories….revisited

When I first started going to the Lions Club you would take your own records and they played on a hi-fi. Later they got a juke box and we picked the music and it played for free. Slow dancing is best remembered at the IOOF hall. It was upstairs and had wooden floors. Day or night the place was dark. Boys on one side of the room and girls on the other.

    ACCCCCCCK! You are so clueless!

Doo Wop (not whop) is the coolest music ever written! Doo Wop is music
that you can dance to and not look like a total idiot! It means something!

    Right Soonergirl26?

Like DUH! That means duh to the youngsters!

At any rate! Doo Wop rocks so much that you'll be clueless for the rest of
    your life!

Would somebody PLEASE help me! I think I've dug a hole I can't crawl out of.

Years ago, my brother and his band would play at the rec. center just south of Jefferson (I think). I was their one and only roadie and would occasionally sit in with them. Now that was fun.

Did anyone else dance at the "Scene" on Agnew? Friday's &/or Saturday. Battle of the Bands? The Mount had some great dances too!

    I'd bet that Soonergirl26 did.

I never danced. It was something that didn't appeal to me. Now, I don't
have to worry about it. I'm in the band! Prunette never goes to my gigs!

I didn't catch that! Danny Kaye died in 87. Ronnie Kay, no relation and I
doubt it's his real name, is still going!
