there is a for lease sign in one of the windows... anybody know why? and i thought this was supposed to break ground beginning of october? no?

They better not allow them to do demo and then run from this property. This city really urks me on not making developers having solid financing in place.

i can't believe people have not shown more interest in this

The "for lease" sign is actually an old sign that was unearthed when they took out a window for interior demolition. It is now being used to help board up said window opening.

Sounds suspicious, but I hope you're right. One would think they'd spray paint it then or turn it the other way around to avoid confusion.

I see for lease signs on property that is nothing of the sort all the time, even in Bricktown. Developers are just lazy I guess.

Developers MAY be lazy, but to contractors, time = $$$

Besides, look at the free pub that scrap sign generated on this Blog!

i think i'm just going to keep asking about this project to make sure its still on peoples mind, haha.... so assuming nothing happening

It's in development ICU in a coma along with pretty much everything else. The hospital ward is waiting for some sanity to return to the banking industry to wake the patients up.

very nice, as long as its not in the development morgue

Looks like this project may come up from the comatose...

Agenda item for the Nov. 14th Bricktown Design Review Committee:

JC Witcher of ADG, Inc., will make a presentation to the Committee, for informational purposes only, on a proposed 124-room hotel at the northeast corner of Main Street and Oklahoma Avenue.

Here is the first proposal but something has obviously changed, as originally it was only to be 95 rooms, now we are up to 124.

Have no idea if it will still be a Holiday Inn; ownership of this property has not changed.

To clarify (without reading through 9 pages of material), the buildings currently on this site would be demolished?

Here's the subject property shown in pink; blue is complete, yellow under construction or proposed:

Previously, there was talk of trying to save the north brick wall but everything else was to be razed.

The ball keeps rolling in downtown. Exciting. Looking forward to seeing some site plans so we can start critiquing!

I just hope they don't build into where Oklahoma Ave "runs". Does the city have ROW for Oklahoma Ave just in the event it gets extended from 2nd to Main someday in the future? (Or even a pedestrian cooridor only)

Are there actual plans to extend Oklahoma to Main? That would make a ton of sense.

I would like to see it extended with a designated/protected lane through the parking lots, but used for pedestrians and bicycles only.

Oklahoma would have to have a bridge similar to the Walnut Bridge, as there are railroad tracks and a mini cliff. I still don't really see who would use it preferentially over Walnut or EK Gaylord. We locals wouldn't mind a set of stairs down the cliff for walking purposes, as I doubt anyone from Deep Deuce drives into Bricktown. The only time we did was when my husband sprained his ankle. Why pay for parking when you can walk for free?

That's probably true. While it would be occasionally convenient, at your urging, I don't really see who would use preferentially either. And of course, I never pay for what I could do for free.

Also that would require either the removal of some of that big parking lot back there, or a bridge over that, too. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yes!!!! I was really hoping this would be back on, don't really care what hotel chain it is, just think that a hotel in that location would bring much needed life to the north end of Bricktown.

This makes 8 hotels either proposed or under construction in BT or DD at this time. This is very good, considering just a few years ago we had only three.
