I am missing the education forum and was wondering where it went?
Now incorporated in Politics & Current Events.
All previous posts were moved there.
I would think it could very easily go under family matters
I don't think Education should go into Politics!
I'm going to echo some of the other concerns. "Politics and Current Events" is not the proper way to lump other news worthy events. There are what...5-10 new political threads per day, any news worthy issue that is not political will get buried and off the front page in a day or two. Honestly this part of the reorganization could have gone a lot better.
I would say education should be merged with the "Family Matters" forum and just rename that Family & Education - as Southern stated.
Much like for those of us that discuss weather, environment stuff, etc...it get's buried in "OKC Underground" which is really vast and broad as is. I would move Relationships up under Life & Leisure, since it makes more sense there. Eliminate the "Social networking" category all together. Move OKC Underground to Business & Tech. Rename Business and Technology to "Special Interests". Then I would rename "Tech Talk" to "Science & Technology" since it is relatively low traffic.
It would simplify things a bit more, but also better organize where things go - and where they were actually fit better.
I don't necessarily agree with all the recommendations venture mentioned, but I do agree with Thunder in that Education would be more appropriate under Family Matters than Politics.
Thanks for a terrific site Pete.
I have come to rely on OKCTalk as a great source of local and national news, and seeing the interest and thoughts people have on each thread. Most of the changes you made in the recent redesign were great however I agree that Education AND current events would be much better off out of the Political Threads. There are very few actual Current events listed in that section and even those take political pop shots. Even weather posts get ambushed. I think most people have started using the underground section for current events posts to try and avoid this. Again thanks for a great site and keep up the good work.
