    From www.channeloklahoma.com:

The list indicates some of the Oklahoma facilities would gain responsibilities under the Pentagon plans, including a 3,500 person increase in military and civilian personnel at Fort Sill. Tinker would see an increase of 400 people and Vance would see an increase of 100.

That surprises me Oklahoma avoided BRAC once again. I thought for sure either Altus or Vance would be closed. I think Fort Sill and Tinker are pretty safe for a long time, as well as the McAlester ammunitions plant. Lawton looks to gain the most from the reallignment, over 3500 new people moving in over the next couple of years.

Ah, yes, a very positive note. We are very fortunate to have Tinker, Fort Sill, and Vance, in this great state. Kudos to the politicians, and others, who worked long and hard to keep our bases from making the list.
