empire bottling company was my favorite, but your tastes may vary. in general, just stick with anything that has cane sugar instead of corn syrup.Originally Posted by john1744

Yes. They have a menu on their website if your interested. POPS: Home
Went with the wife and my brother and sister in law last night after church. Ordered some food to see if it was as bad as others have said. I ordered the POPS burger (No Name Ranch burger) and fries. It was served on a brioche bun and you get to pick your toppings. I got blue cheese, bacon, jack cheese, green chilis and jalapenos. It was excellent!! One of the best burgers I've had. As always Good Egg Dining is definitely one of the best if not the best around, so is No Name Ranch beef. My wife got the grilled PB&J and my bro and sis-in law got regular cheeseburgers. Everyone seemed satisfied with their foods and no bad comments. We then proceeded to build our own six packs of fine sodas from around the world. Will report back if any are recommendation worthy.
I also was there last night but before the church crowd let out.
Had the Chicken fried steak and it was very good. Tender and the gravy was absolutely phenomenal. The fries are what I wish Braum's could make their fries like. The chick had a single patty plain burger I think she was a bit disappointed and didn't get too full. She said she would defintely try the no-name burger next time.
For dessert we grabbed up the cookie sundae and that was amazing. Two chocolate chip cookies with ice cream in the middle with hot fudge and caramel drizzled over. Absolutely fantastic.
We both grabbed a few drinks each and enjoyed all of them except the misses grapefruit soda.
We had family in from out of town so we went to POPS tonight. Tuck, I saw some good changes. First off, I was so glad to see four seat tables replacing the two-seat tables along the front entrance. With such high traffic, I never understood the two-tops, though I have suspicions it was an "artistic" issue involving someone I respect a lot.
Secondly, and this might seem like a small issue, but ... I can't begin to praise you enough for replacing styrofoam kid's cups with plastic kids' cups. My 4-year-old always managed to crush and spill the old ones. New one stayed perfectly intact.
Food was good. My only disappointment: I really, really, really wish you had sugar free grape soda!
Did anyone catch POPS on the Today Show last Tuesday? Can someone provide a link?
Anyone?

Pops cafe in Arcadia a stop in reality series
BY JACQUELINE CUTLER
Published: July 6, 2009
Parents who have taken road trips will chuckle sympathetically — or cringe gleefully — watching NBC’s "Great American Road Trip,” premiering at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Sure, everyone should see this exquisite land, but doing it while spending a month together in a recreational vehicle with no personal electronics likely would seem a bit daunting to even the closest of families. Yet, seven brave families of four pile into NBC-provided RVs to head west along old Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles in this reality series hosted by comic Reno Collier.
They even made a stop at Pops cafe in Arcadia, OK, which is to be part of the July 21 episode.
During each hourlong episode, the families face challenges. The family that loses leaves. The last family remaining after the eight episodes wins $100,000.
The first challenge is being deprived of iPods, portable DVD players, cell phones and the electronic communication of choice: texting. For most children and teens, this is akin to cutting off oxygen.
"They’re meant to be fun family challenges,” executive producer Lisa Hennessy says. "There’s one where the dads did a cook-off — who could make the best burgers. And we did a blind taste test.”
In the pilot, parents wear gigantic foam heads fashioned to look like presidents. They had to wear these while running an obstacle course outside Lincoln’s home.
"The kids have the time of their lives,” Hennessy says. "They saw places they had never seen.”
Hennessy says the families were impressed by their visit to Pops.
"It has the most soda pop of anyplace in the world,” she said.
"It’s the fun little places like that that the kids went crazy over. We went to Lake Mead and went in a houseboat, and they catch fish with their hands. One of the kids caught his very first fish on the trip. One kid was terrified of the zip line and did it and had the best time of his life.”
The 14 youths, ages 9 to 16, and the families were selected to be geographically, racially, ethnically and economically diverse. Family members say they enjoyed the sights and the challenges, and there were no reports of pending divorces for couples thrust together every possible moment. In fact, family togetherness and wanting to see the country were what motivated people to participate.

did you do a video search? should have something on the Today show site I would think
neat!! thanks!!
I thought I'd revive this thread!I went to Pops today for The first time and it was very enjoyable except for the one hour wait.I really like how you can mix and match your own six or twelve packs! My Niece and Nephew had a great time an I would recomend anyone who hasn't gone to go.
That bottle makes a awful noise and not everyone can hear it.
After a while of waiting you relized your just eating at a gas station.
I come here about twice a week just to get a Bulldog Rootbeer! My favorite!
We've been a few times when we wanted a drive. The sodas are fun but the restaurant is a Joke. Hour long wait for mediocre food. I've done breakfast and lunch and neither was memorable.
I live near Pops and drive by it everyday. There is almost never a time it is not busy (sorry about the double negative) And there is ALWAYS someone standing in front of the giant bottle to get their picture taken.
I do think the architecture, specifically the suspended canopy, is awesome and I love driving by it frequently. The scale and interest are inspiring.
WOW...lots of gripers and whiners.
Pops is awesome for what it is. I'm not an "okie" and think it's an awesome structure, a unique place with a niche of it's own. We need more of what Pops offers around here.
I love to take a drive out there, it has a feeling of being many, many miles away from all the cookie cutter brick facaded metal buildings (that i call FAKE architecture) that the OKC area seems to embrace.
When I first pulled up to it when I moved here last year, my 1st thought was that it looked like a World's Fair pavilion.
No matter if you like the food, the service or think it's just a gas station, there is something to be appreciated. Some of you just have to look deeper. Open the Blinders and you may be AMAZED at how much more you will see.
Some of these negative posts here (not only on this topic either) just amaze me.
Is Pops still being managed by Good Egg Group? The reason I ask is that I've go to Pops probably a dozen times a year. But I noticed recently they've stopped taking GEG gift cards and the service is definitely on the down hill slide. The last few times I've been there have been at lunch with next to no crowds, the family and I get seated nearly immediately but it takes close to twenty minutes to get drinks (if you're not having something from the cooler of course) and the food just doesn't taste as fresh as it did in recent years.
However the store itself is still as amazing as ever, and the dessert (we always get a chocolate chip cookie / ice cream sundae) is still one of the best you can get anywhere.
Just saw a $340K building permit to put a Pops in the West Concourse.
Also, $276K for an EA Sports.
The concession operator signed a new contract earlier this year or late last year for this. EA is supposed to open in the fall, not sure about Pops.
Sorry if there is already another post on this -- if so, let me know and I'll merge them.
Do you know where exactly Pops will be located?
I mentioned something about it in one of the other threads. It's buried somewhere in the spiraling vortex of doom. LOL. I think this thread is fine.
