Default If you had $10K to "Spread the word"....

    In reference to http://www.okctalk.com/political-are...y-capitol.html

If you, your house of worship, religious organization, or non-profit, had $10,000 to "Spread the word about [insert the word you're spreading here]"
    What would you do?
What would have the greatest impact?

  2. Default Re: If you had $10K to "Spread the word"....

Spread the word about 'taking care of those who can't take care of themselves'.

Start programs to feed babies and children so that no one goes to bed hungry or to school without breakfast.

I would contribute the $10,000 towards impoverished families and then lobby Washington D.C. to critically analyze the tax-exemption status of these wealthy churches that can afford to employ 'spammers' in preference to donating it to the above-mentioned families.

I assume that what you mean, by "spread the Word" is using some method of
evangelism. That's what I'm using as the reference to your question. And a
    good one it is.

I'd most likely give it to the church. Whether it's paying the bills of the
unfortunate or anything else, they know how to use the money to spread
the Word (Jesus) better than I.

Missions is another way. They have a sensitive way of spreading the Love
    of Jesus.

A better way to help the poor than giving the money to them, create a small business in their community and hire only people within the community. Surely you agree with that, Prunniepoo.

PS Since you "came out" on another thread, should we call you Raymond. You just don't look like a Raymond to me.

The question was about spreading the word and not necessarily helping the
    poor.

You can call me Raymond or you can call me Ray or...

    Prunniepoo?

Hmmm, I thought that that was kinda how missionary work worked. Addressing social needs in order to get their attention to listen to the message, and to give them a reason to respect what you have to say. Maybe I am wrong.

So Johnson is the last name, huh?
