I can't believe you found a picture of a Griff's. What was the location?

My cousin sent it to me he said that is where it was. Just as picker said.
For the life of me, I just can't remember Griff's. When was it there?
Clara Luper and her group had sit-ins and protested in many locations. The first place that received national attention was Katz Drug Store downtown OKC. I don't remember if they had a sit-in at the drug store on 25th and Robinson, but they might have been at that location within a couple years of the Katz incident.
The picture GrantGeneral78 posted looks like the Griffs sign, but I doubt it's the sign from the 44th street store because it has some '80s/'90s stuff like a third tail light on the van, two-tone paint and straight handlebars on the bicycle and wrap-around tail lights on the truck in the picture...not to mention "Fries for $1"...
I noticed that there's still a location in Denver, CO.
Griff's
I stand corrected, Griff's it was. 10 burgers for a dollar, man those where the days.
I was thinking about the Red Barn restaurant on S. Penn. next to the Y.M.C.A.. I know it's long gone but, I used to clean up the gravel parking lot for the owner when I was young. His name was Jim Muskowski (spelling probably wrong). I believe a member of his family owned Penn 44 Lanes and was also a lawyer. I also worked at the bowling alley a little. Man I still remember the burgers and fries from there. Also, I think Jim had a son my age. Does anyone remember this family?
Going down S.W. 44th East of Pennsylvania....Remember when there were nothing but families living there and No businesses in the homes? How about the old Myrtle Lodge..That was where the formal dance affairs seemed to always happen. The prom was great but the formal affairs those Southside girls put on. Still hate to wear a Tux though. I remember my senior prom at Grant ....State Fair grounds....Some of the guys were told to put their Bourbon in a Douche bag and run the line down their coat sleeves.....Dummies, they ALL forgot to attach the line to the bag well...Cheap bourbon on a White coat looks and smells real bad...We all still had a good time......Those were the days.
Where was this at...............
I assume your talking down the street to the "West". Yes, there is a bar thats sits on the North side of S.W.59th (across from Whataburger) a few blocks West of Western. Last time I was by there which was 5 or 6 weeks ago, it was still called Cyd's Place. It may have at one time had a different name, but its been Cyds for a long time, I would say around 20 years or so. Do you remember the "950" Lounge? What a great little dive that place was.
