Last time I was in Colo. I tried a variety pack from the Ska Brewery that was pretty tasty overall.

Why do I feel like I'm watching the Smokey and the Bandit plot?
lol
Yep. The main reason for that is because the taste of it changes once it's allowed to warm up. If you're ever in an area that has fresh Fat Tire, try it right away or keep it cool. It tastes nasty once allowed to warm up. (Even if you've chilled it again)I've always heard that New Belgium limits their distribution to places that can keep it refrigerated throughout delivery and storage...

Oh, and I forgot to say I would love to join in with your FTC, as well. I really enjoy Fat Tire, and would love to have some again sometime soon!

Home made chili . . . really, really good home made chili, maybe the best bowl of chili I have ever eaten . . . Randy's Grandmother's recipe with Bill Kamps chili meat . . . Mopsy's of Shawnee from back in the day . . . and a cold Fat Tire for dinner followed by B&J's Cherry Garcia FroYo . . . I'm in heaven. Yet another think that is damn hard to come by in OKC . . . Ben & Jerry's FroYo or Hagan Daz low fat Coffee Ice Cream. Pisses me off no end.

I love the Fat Tire.
Has anyone compared Fat Tire to Lefthand Sawtooth? It seemed to be a pretty close match (although my tastings were a couple months apart).
I've heard good things about Lefthand Sawtooth, but I've not heard that comparison. I've never tried it. I do like the BlackJack Porter they make though.
Although I haven't tried it, I've heard Flying Dog Old Scratch is comparable to Fat Tire.
I personally think nothing compares to it. I'm having one right now, and I can't get over how much I enjoy it.

Modern Liquor - 30ish & Penn
Byrons
A couple of restaurants around town even serve it (cant remember which).
I'm a fan of most of the Left Hand & Flying Dog beers. Especially the Left Hand Milk Stout.
Best beer bar none! I have got 2 cases in my fridge in garage. As stated in above posts, you can get it in Texas, Kansas and Arkansas.
As far as the refrigerated issue, I saw cases of Fat Tire for sale at Sam's Club down here in Austin sitting out at room temperature on a pallet.
Yeah New Belgium prefers that their beer is shipped cold and sold cold. So no NB beers in okc for a while. Luckily you can pick it up in any state around us. As far as driving it in we were warned about the amount you can have before there can be bootlegging charges(I think the clerk was giving us a hard time). Johnny courage is good too. Anyone know if Shiner was going to do any more batch's of their Kolsch again?
Bootlegging charges are real and possible. I know personally of an incident (where I may or may not have been present) that a few friends took a run to Texas for several cases of beer for a bachelor party. They were stopped by OHP on the way back. Casual conversation about what they were up to led to the guys standing on the side of I35 pouring it all out.
The Sawtooth in my hand right now is a very similar style to Fat Tire. It has that little bit of sweetness . . . pretty earthy overall taste . . . and a lingering hoppy finish.
I have a six pack of Choc Pietro Piegari Amber Ale in the beer fridge that is very similar to Fat Tire according to the owner of the new store at 8th & Broadway. Great beer selection there as well as wine. Nice to have an alternative to Byron's. Broadway Wine Merchants is way more owner in jeans and stocking cap operated . . . not so WalMartish.
Not much on their site yet . . . www.broadwaywine.com but I think they do some nice tastings and it might be worthwhile to be on their email list to get notified about those.
