Thread: Book store in Edmond?

  1. #1

    Default Book store in Edmond?

Does anyone know of plans to put in a Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc. in Edmond? My wife and I hope that one will go in every time we see a large retail space open up, but we get shot down every time. Will we ever get one? or is the Quail Springs corridor too close?

I would think one would go into the Bryant & 15th/2nd area at some point. That's far enough from Quail Springs. For now, there's Best of Books in Kickingbird Square.

They probably figure as always that they can just keep getting Edmondites to go to Penn & Memorial...

Barnes and Noble is over priced anyway. I'd rather have a Borders.

    I second for Border's!

Borders would be great! But at this point I would take anything.

Books A Million and Barnes & Noble ... both in front of Quail Springs Mall. I love Border's and wish Edmond would adopt them.

Yeah, I know about the ones over by Quail Springs, but we live in East Edmond so they aren't real convenient for us. I have heard a rumor that Borders is going in somewhere on 2nd between Bryant and Coltrane, but haven't confirmed it.

    Best of Books is great.

    Local businesses > megachains.

Best of Books does a great job bringing in authors for book signings. That's the advantage of the locals. Full Circle is the same way.

BOB has Mike Huckabee doing a signing this week.

Has? Or Had? I'd love to meet him.

I could go for a Hastings here. If we had that, I wouldn't miss Borders or BN either one. And Blockbuster could go away too, for that matter.

It's in the next few days I believe.

Well if it's this week, then it has to be tomorrow. Otherwise, it's next week...or later. Guess I'll have to drive by on the way home and have a "look-see."

That's different. And I may be out of luck, then. Fooey.
