Naw:...it was the homsey family. There were three brothers directly involved and one (Lawyer) was an investor. Haroz is kin some way or other though. I now remember the building you were talking about it wasn't too far from the Sam's store?

Bad news. I won't be able to make the lunch on Saturday. My daughter and
grand daughter are coming to town and I'm not going to miss them.

I vaguely remember them. There was time when exotic animals were in vogue.

Maybe they had a Bedouin circus or something.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------What are you talking about with the Green Monkeys? The guy it seems was a Shriner and he was the only one who had a place large enough to keep them at. It wasn't very long ago that they tore down the house where the man lived....

Does anyone remember the old airport Ticket Counters? I'm talking about the old area at Will Rogers where AAR is located. That is the old terminal..I remember one time a friend and I rode out bicycles (dirt roads and all) to see the planes come in and land. Only to our amazement did a Stewardess ask us if we wanted to see the inside of the plane. Really though I had died and gone to heaven at that point not only was the plane cool but wow was that Stewardess Pretty. We got to sit in the Pilots seat and got our own plastic pilots wings.....then we got to watch the plane take off.....Same thing would happen like that today huh???....Ticket to Dallas was $15.00 yeah same thing today. Where would we have been without our bicycles guys? i travel around the worl (I thought) on my bike...then discovered the noise of baseball cards in the spokes...Not football cards.......they were coveted...I had a complete...notice complete .....set of Baltimore colts football cards.....even Alan Ameche...oh the trips I went on on my bicycle....We lived off Independence on 47th st. S.W. I rode to Airline shopping Center Reding Center (got in a lot of trouble for that one) even rode it to Del City trying to help one of my friends impress a girl YUK!!!! tell some your stories as long as you aren't beaking the law......However, my Bike was the fastest....

We used to ride the drainage ditches. One went from S.W. 59 and Agnew to S.W.
29 and May, Woodson Park. Not sure how we got there but it was a fun ride.

I remember being able to walk out to the planes when one came in.

Your talk about the airport does bring back a lot of memories. I have many stories about Will Rogers Airport and riding bikes, but I type too slow to tell any.

Your statement that your bike "was the fastest" isn't exactly correct because my $300 1970 custom built Gitane was actually the fastest. I raced kids from all over OKC and never lost a race. I still have that bike.

Aw:....you shad a "Sissy" bike, My bike was so bad it was stolen and the kid brought it back cause it was too fast.....Made of Aluminum , longhorn handlebars and a leather pearson seat...No fenders, no chain guard just a mean, fast riding machine.......Man, that made me tired just trying to describe it. I think my dad gave $1.00 for it and put new tires on it...Boy, I had fun on that old bike...wanted to "kill" the guy that stole it....named the bike "Minnie Troubles"....see ya Saturday

My bike was made out of noweightium and had components made out of unobtainium. It would go so fast people thought it had a rocket engine.

Oh yeah! Well, I wanted a 283 V-8 on my bike.

It almost happened until dad asked where I was going with the tool box...

In the early 1970s I had a rather large, southside friend named Carl that worked (owned?) in the motorcycle shop at SW 29th and Western. He built a drag-bike powered by 'two' V8 Chevy engines mounted in-line.

my bike was so tough and mean that it didn't need baseball cards in the spokes to make a noise. It was (my bike) so stout that it would leak grease out of the back axle....wait a minute maybe that wasn't a good thing...Huh?....Wish I had the bike now I could probably stand to lose 20 or 30 pounds...But, I guess you have to ride them first...... right????.................. a 283????wher were you planning to bolt the gas tank on??? See ya and the little Prunette tomorrow?????

The fenders on my bike were smashed against the tires, too.
