This could be interesting, I'm a little surprised it's coming out just before the election though. Here's a link to W. the film... W.

Every time I see that preview I want to kiss the casting director.
We saw the trailer during a screening of Bill Maher's "Religulous" today (great flik, by the way).
"W" looks hysterical. Can't wait to see it.
And as for timing, it couldn't be more perfect.
No, it sure doesn't.
This movie looks like it could be great. Although Oliver Stone has a tendency to take comedy to very strange dark places. He regards Natural Born Killers as a comedy...
Is it supposed to be a comedy? I didn't get that impression from the trailers.
Yep, from the cast page it looks like Richard Dreyfuss should make a great Dick Cheney. And I've always liked Ellen Burstyn and Jamer Cromwell.
In my original post I said I was surprised that this movie was coming out just before the election. I should have phrased it better and said while GWB was still President. Usually only critical documentaries, ala Micheal Moore type come out while a President is still "President". This looks more like a comedy-drama, life story type film.
Probably depends on your views of W I guess, some people will find it funny I'm sure. Looks more like a biography to me. It would be interesting to know what the Bush family and the others ( Cheney, Rice, etc. ) think of the movie. On one hand it will probably portray them in some bad situations. Which when you think about it, who here wouldn't be nervous about something they did in the past being put into a movie. Things like father-son arguments, or any of the other the kind of dramas all families have.
And on the other hand, wouldn't it be weird to have a movie made about your life by someone you don't know well. You might hate it but I bet you'd watch it!!! And how cool would it be to have James Brolin play you. You'd have to get a kick out of it. Or an ego boost.
It's Josh Brolin--the son.
This is basically George W. Bush, the unauthorized biography. Stone is known for embellishments, so don't be surprised if there are scenes that are completely made up.
lol... that is so funny... one of my favorite things ever is David Letterman's Great Presidential Moments. I can't wait to see this movie.
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
I think this comes out Friday. Should be worth a few laughs.
so has anyone seen this yet?
