I was driving up N May and it looks like Steak N Ale is closed? I didn't stop but it looked like there was sign in the front door window?

Yup, I read the parent company went bankrupt.

a liquidation br filing does tend to have that effect on a business.
Thats too bad... They had the best salad bar!
Steak N Ale at May & Memorial has been demolished. There are no traces of the said restaurant as all that remains is a small tract of smoothed dirt.
That makes me sad.
the salad bar was the best those dressings!!!!!!!
Interesting….

I loved the salad bar at Steak & Ale. I could get a small steak, baked potato, and the salad bar for a reasonable price and have leftovers to take home. My sister worked the bar at both the location at I-40 and Meridian and NW Expressway and May. That had to be around 35 years ago, though!
OKC has come a long way. I remember when Steak and Ale was the "special occasion" restaurant in OKC.
Very interesting.

I was a regular there back in the day. Is it an upscale steakhouse? No
Did I love it? Yes
