Thread: You must see this video.

Default You must see this video.

Let people who have never been here, or who have only been to one place in Oklahoma, see this video. Yes, this is all Oklahoma.

    Enjoy.

Isn't that the video that they show at Will Rogers Airport? I think I saw that last November.

I don't know. I think that would be the perfect place to show this, though. That has to be the flattest and dullest part of Oklahoma. We need to create a second first impression.

Wow, every frame looked like it came straight out of a painting. Very nice.
    Still corrupting young minds

As a young boy and man, my mom always expressed her affection for this state, she loved it so. In her later years, she moved to Salt Lake City to live with my brother there, a nurse, and she often said how much she missed "my Oklahoma." This video reminds me of how long that it took for me to share her point of view, as I do now.

The video also reminds me that there is much of Oklahoma that I've yet to see and parts that I want to see again. Here are a few screen captures from the video ... they don't do it justice, but they are enough to give a taste ...

AFCM, while I don't often post non-Okc-metro articles or post in my blog, I thought that what you linked to here needed to be an exception, as I've done with credit to you: Doug Dawgz Blog: OklaTravelNet.Com

    Thanks, again!

Wow, that's an awesome vid! Someone should send that to some Hollywood location scouts.

I especially like the dynamic colors; they're breathtaking.

I took vacation time the over the 4th of July holiday. I spent all my time traveling around Oklahoma. I took some beautiful pictures of Turner Falls, the Wichita Mountains and of Route 66.

When I came back people asked me what I did and I explained what I just mentioned. People like I went to Wal-Mart for vacation.

If you have not been out of OKC (or wherever you call home) I suggest you travel around Oklahoma there truly are some beautiful places to be seen. Mt. Scott in the Wichita Mountains is beautiful.

Kinda helps to be flat when you're trying to land an airplane.

If anyone has suggestions about embedding the file (as I've done in my blog) so that autostart is disabled, I'd surely appreciate your advice. I've tried several things none of which work. The embed code at OklaTravelNet is

    <embed src="http://www.oklatravelnet.com/embed/embeddedplayer.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" wmode="window" name="embeddedplayer" menu="true" allowfullscreen="false" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" salign="" flashvars="videoid=14038" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" align="middle" height="328" width="330"></embed>
I won't list what I've tried ... but anyone have any thoughts? What I want is for the video NOT to start until a visitor wants it to.

    Try this, my friend!

    HTML Code:
    <embed src="http://www.oklatravelnet.com/embed/embeddedplayer.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" wmode="window" name="embeddedplayer" menu="true" allowfullscreen="false" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" salign="" flashvars="videoid=14038&autostart=false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" align="middle" height="328" width="330"></embed>

Thanks, Julie! I'll play around with the code and report back. Good to hear from you!

On edit: Nope, Julie, that didn't work. After I copied & pasted your code I saw that I'd tried the same thing ... modifying the flashvars statement (or element or whatever the phrase is) as you suggested ...

    flashvars="videoid=14038&autostart=false"
I went ahead and pasted the code you provided in the blog, though, thinking maybe I got some character wrong. It still autostarts. I also tried using a zero ... 0 ... in place of false, as I'd seen at some html on-line page this morning, but that didn't work, either ...

    Thanks for trying!

I've added a collage of 16 screen captures from the video to my blog post. The images in the video were just too beautiful not to do something "static" with some of them. I've modified the 1024 px wide image to fit a 1024 x 768 display, but the full 1254 x 962 image is proportionally correct, as is the smaller version shown below:
