Juanes? by the bowling alley? That place is disgusting. I don't like mexican food, but I am usually able to eat a quesadilla or enchilada. Their queso came straight of the can with extra added water and I must say that I enjoyed the restaurant better when it was "Golden Corral"
i agree, but golden corral was even bad. no, i was talking about a small joint right in downtown. it is on the south side of the street. i am going to have to try it by myself because my wife will have nothing to do with it. We once was on our way to witchita and we thought we would try that hole in the wall mexican place in guthrie called el rodeo (i think), both of us were sick all the way to kansas, so that was the end of my wifes adventuress hole in the walls.

I was at sonic and asked the car hop, their apparently moving right across the street next to O'Reilly's. You can kinda see where they have the space layed out. The carhop said they should be in there in the next month or so.

Is his food pretty good? It's hard to find good cajun food outside of LA or TX or MS.

it's going to have a drive thru. i don't know about you, but the new location looks like it's about half the size of the old one. if fact, it looks big enough for only a drive thru.

That's what I thought and that's one thing about the Mustang Sonic...it's always busy. I was kind of thinking it's too small as it is...

For those of you looking for good Tex-Mex (aka "Mexican") food...try Alfredo's (in front of Kohl's). The family is actually from W'ford, but have branched out to Yukon and Norman. That is one of my all time favorite places to eat. The service in Yukon leaves a lot to be desired, but the food is fantastic.

The food there is real cajun food. Not knock off cajun as I call some places. The food is the best cajun I've had...should say we. They (the owners) told us there was a place in Ft. Smith called R. Landry's Cajun Cafe. Her sister owns that place. R. Landry's has been opened for 8 years I think she said. They decided to expand and bring their food here. They have the BEST bread pudding! Love their swamp dressing in the salad. Making myself hungry...LOL But really.....it's good food.

I heard they were moving a few months back. Was told a few weeks ago they weren't moving. Who knows......Be nice if they would expand some.

Was hoping Sonic would be expanding as the one they have now is too small.

i'm thikin the new sonic that is being built now will be a drive thru only. when it opens they will tear down the old sonic and build a bigger car hop sonic. but i don't think that's going to happen.

What do you all think about Interurban? I like their bacon cheeseburger, queso, and pizza! (LOL not real ethnic like the cajun and mexican food posts) They usually have good service. They have free queso on Thursday nights. It has spinach in it, which doesn't sound good, but it actually is! I haven't tried the mexican restaurant, and from the sound of it, I don't know if I'd like it. The cajun place on the other hand, does sound appealing. What do you recommend from there?

Also, is anyone with me in that the fireworks display on the 4th was a dud? They didn't have the usual grand finale that I look forward too! I've watched the Yukon Fireworks since I was really young, and this was the worst one. For you Mustangites, how was the Bean Supper this year?

interurban....it's ok. i like the one on reno better than yukons, not that yukons is bad. mustangs is ok to. the wife and i ate at the one on memorial the other night, they burnt my chicken fried steak!...not good.

didn't see yukons firworks. mustangs was good imo. nothing to write home about, but not a dud either. i always think they should last longer. i just like going eating beans, watermelon, enjoying live music and visiting at those things. Did the OKC philharmonic play in yukon this year?

I dont understand why Yukon has two boring nights of fireworks instead of just one mediocre night of fireworks. A suggestion for next year: go to Wal-Mart during the show and you wont wait in line and there will be no stockers because it's a legal holiday and they don't want to pay them time and a half.

I like their steaks. The one we got think it was called Filet New Orleans. The steak comes with a creamy sauce on top that has shrimp, crabmeat, and crawfish in it and is served over pasta. We liked their fried catfish, blackened catfish, blackened shrimp and seafood pasta. My sister and a friend of mine gets the beans and rice with the blackened sausage on top. I've never had that as it doesn't interest me. But both really say it's good. We hope to go back this week or next and will try something different.

Not that I don't believe you but do you have a link to anything that would prove this to be true?

What do you mean Yukon's vs. the one on Reno? I thought the one on Reno was the only one in Yukon.

I thought that's what you meant! Harry's used to be good back in the day. The one in Mustang is a lot better. Yukon's is bad.

On a side note, tomorrow is ornament premier at Sharon's Hallmark (next to Harry's, and across from Wal-Mart in Yukon) For those of you interested in Christmas ornaments, check it out! They're going to have some cool one's this year!

Just to chime in - Alfredo's IS the best mexican food in Yukon. The only problem with them is that they don't serve beer or alcohol of any kind. I like a cold beer with my mexican food.

Also, does anyone know when they're going to open the bridge back up on 10th between Czech Hall and Garth Brooks? That route saves me lots of time and it's been frustrating waiting for them to open it back up.

They have this corn dish that i just can't get enough of. i don't know if it has sour cream or what, but it's great stuff.

i think the bridge is done? but now thay are widening 10th street as part of the target deal....i think, so who knows.

I'm just glad they are putting a left turn lane on GBB by Santa Fe.

you know.....i'm not the brightest light bulb in the room, but i could have figured that should have been done from day one. not only that, but putting in a center lane all the way to 10th street would have been nice. i'm just glad to see some progress.
