I hate it...but love it.
I hate it...but love it.
Here's one I ran across that looks really nice.

I think this one would work here.
BBC NEWS | Middle East | Dubai plans 'moving' skyscraper
that's amazing.
i'm not a big fan of moving buildings.
most definitely.Might put us on the map though.
i do not know how these buildings work, but the maintenance must be monsterous. i just don't see working in one. if i wanted to work in a moving building (besides your typical sway), i will move to san francisco
I agree with Cuatro. But my opinion is that we are already on the map. I don't need a building to prove that. That building in Baltimore would be great. SLeek and modern.
Usually when I see a giant building go up in another city it represents progress to me. And when people see Devon's tower it will add to the growing list of things going on here that shows out of towners that we are moving forward.
of course we are all ready on the map. most of America knows we are in the state of Oklahoma, but that's it. Cuatrode is right, waite till we build that giant oil dereck over the oklahoma river, that will get peoples attention, and comments. giant buildings going up, up, up is a sign of progress and OKC is on the way.....NBA, Devon tower and who knows what elese. OKC is no denver, houston, st. louis, atlanta as far as being on a map. we need all the help we can get, and a moving building in dt OKC will turn heads.
Nope, I saw it. I was going to point out that it was already in the thread, but I decided not to.
Just think, a month from now, we'll have the name/colors of our NBA team, some of the team will be here by then, AND DEVON will have its first renderings of it's new building available. Exciting times ahead!
very exciting indeed!
OKC is definitely on the move, and truly yet ANOTHER Renaissance is just beginning!
Continue the Renaissance!
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
Yes, some high-profile things coming very soon!
But I still say that the central city passed a critical tipping point just a couple of months ago, with Plaza Court becoming full of tenants and open to the public.
I believe this signals the arrival of that part of town as a true *neighborhood* and that things will really start to snowball in terms of people moving down there and breathing life back into the heart of town.
And the raging success of the business at Plaza Court underscores this point.
Agreed.
that's why I said Oklahoma City is experiencing another Renaissance. This one is 'Welcome to Tier II' of national cities!
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
It will be very interesting to watch Devon Tower climb into the sky while construction cranes are also performing major surgery on the nearby Ford Center.
Lots of great symbolism there.
Are there any new developments with the new tower? Do we have any new information...number of floors, leaks on possible design, etc? Does anyone know when all of this information will finally be released?
according to metro, we should see some renderings in about a month.
Awesome...thanks. I can't wait to see what it's going to look like and how TALL it's going to be! What a great addition to our skyline this will be.
your best source for info would be steve lackmeyer's articles/blogs or the oktalk (okmet) forums.
isn't the crosstown and the blvd supposed to be complete in 2012? so maybe they could have started on the retail towers (as shown in C2S) and the convention center by then too!!???
so... 2012
devon tower
ford center
new blvd
new i-40
possible
convention center
2 retail towers
you're dreaming big.
haha no thats moderate dreaming, dreaming big would have a hell of a lot more haha
