The Moore Warren is my ONLY movie theater in the OKC area I will ever go to, (unless something else better comes along, very unlikely)
I live in east Tuttle, close the the county border and we used to make an effort to sometime go to Quail Springs or the Cine Capri.
Warren Theater comes to town and makes me forget other theaters exist in this city.
The picture, the sound, the balcony seating, getting everything delivered to you, advanced reserved seat purhases in the balcony, this place just CANT be beat.
I sent an email off to the theater asking what kind of equipment they used and got a nice response in 2 days explaining what they used for sound and picture projection.
This is THE theater. Tinsel Town? What's that?
We waited until the latest Indiana Jones had been out a couple of weeks and managed to score matinée balcony seats last weekend. So here's the scoop: yes, you do have to be 21 or older to sit in the balcony. We never waited in line, but we're rather partial to early matinées for this reason. My understanding is that you cannot buy balcony tickets online or over the phone. Since Moore is not an easy drive for everyone, especially on $4 gas, it's a little scary taking chances on this. We left home early and drove fast.
The seats comes in pairs and are nice and extra-wide. They have cup holders and the armrest in the middle raises. They are also HEATED. I broke my cardinal rule of movie-going and forgot my jacket, so the heat came in handy. The outside armrests are wide, so there's plenty of room for extra plates, menus, whatever. Just don't stick your elbow in dirty plates. I'm pretty large - my elbow never got anywhere near the armrest, that's how wide the seats are.
If you're worried about the menu prices based on what you pay for movie snacks, well, don't be worried. The menu prices are about normal, or maybe slightly higher, than you would pay at a comparable outside restaurant. I had trouble choosing between pizza, a burger, fish, penne alfredo pasta, or a salad. I went with the fish. My other half had something called a "butcher block," which is a really fancy grilled cheese with ham and special cheese. The food was excellent. With appetizer (chili cheese fries), two meals and sodas, total was $27. It's like eating at Chili's or Applebee's or somesuch. And the food was just as good as Chili's or Applebee's. The only downside I could see is that they don't treat the balcony any different and the lights are off during the movie. You cannot see your food. You also cannot see your bill when they bring it toward the end of the movie, so bring your cell phone to use for a backlight (or a mini-flashlight if you happen to have one).
A couple tricks.
Go a few days in advance to purchase your tickets if you happen to be out that way. You can actually pick your seats from the chart they have available.
Also, for payment of the food, ask the wait staff if they can wait to bring your bill until after the credits start to roll. This way, you can see, and wont miss the last 4-5 minutes of the movie.
Ive been to the balcony twice this way and it worked great both times.
They told my Indy tickets had sold out a week before it actually came to the theater, so buying in advance isn't a bad idea. Hard to do if you don't live anywhere near there and have no reason to go that way, though.
I have been testing and watching the web site and the movietickets.com or whatever it is that you can buy online and I have had several people say that IT IS WORKING and it IS tied into Warren's theater. They did have a problem of double-booking the balcony seating the first week or two but it has been worked out. So, from what I was told, when I said in a different post that Indy was sold out for X days in balcony, they said that was true.
So, you could try balcony tickets online if you didn't want to try and drive down to the theater
Looks like the Warren is kicking some a**...As if we didn't already know...Nice article on how successful it has been so far
