    Another great article on OKC that joins a long list of free publicity we've been receiving. Even though some people in our state still have a negative opinion about our GREAT State, it makes me proud that people outside of our state recognize the progress that we are accomplishing and letting the world know about it. It's awesome we've had such a slew of great national press.

    Great article. Agreed Karried, hopefully that financial company from San Francisco will still move here, I know they were thinking twice about it because of her comments.

    I admire the tenor of the article from USA Today especially in that it doesn't imply that the "evict the highway" idea is the one-size-fits-all solution for everyone. It looks like cities are taking a very practical approach to their aging highways and making decisions that seem to benefit everyone, rather than being forced to adopt some unilateral solution devised by a nameless, faceless bureaucracy half a country away.

    Good pub for OKC!

    It's funny, because I was initially against this idea, mainly because I loved the view of the skyline as people passed through.

    Now -- especially having walked that area south of I-40 -- I realize it's a great plan and will redevelop an area that is completely embarrassing.


    It's funny how public opinion turns... All the sudden, OKC is the model for all sorts of ideas and plans and citizens seem to have lots of confidence in those coming up will all these grandiose plans.

    The idea of the highway being below ground level is a great idea. Keeps traffic noise at a minimum and hides 10 lanes of non attractive highway. I picture it being similar to 75 in dallas, a very well designed highway.

    This was a nice classy article. I especially like the fact they didn't point out one of the real reasons for relocation..(the fact that I-40 is falling apart)

    I haven't seen the plans, but I sure hope they include a few of those managed HOV lanes. If we're going to be a "Big League City" then we might as well do it in the "fast Lane"
