Slumping consumer sentiment, crashing stock prices, and recessionary government policies will do that. And don't discount the growing concern about whether or not flying is even safe nowadays with the massive cuts at the FAA.

Southwest Airlines deserves all that is coming their way. Tons and tons people only considered them because they could save on their bags. Getting rid of that is projected to gain them $1.5 billion, but lose them $1.8 billion.

When will international flights start out of OKC international. Also what about destination and airlines
Exactly! With the baggage charge, change fee charges (on the lowest ticket level) and seating changes (charges for certain seats) I will now shop all airlines, not just SW like I normally do. I know some welcome the assigned seats, but I really liked being able to pick where we sit once on the plane. SW has no advantage for me now.
I don't really understand why they wouldn't just raise the price of the ticket and still claim the bags are free. Customers are now going to feel slighted. Saying something is free and hiding the charge is one of the easiest tricks in the book. This seems like a bad move considering they have hung their hat on the free bags for so long.
It's sad to see SWA just become another airline. Nothing special about them now. I wonder how long it will take them to get on Expedia (and other travel sites)?
It's quite puzzling for them to basically do a 180 on their company's values from the past half century and go full scorched earth. Why not at least offer 1 bag free? This of course if not anything new, but to me it seems to be driving customers to get the SWA credit card. I can see them pivoting to have different status levels as well like most of the other big carriers.
What is the new hanger being built for. I know planes but is it for certain planes? Replacing an older hanger and tearing the old one down when new one is done? It's next too AAR just too the north
