The NBA Board of Governors votes the way the Commissioner tells them to vote. They might all be billionaires who aren’t used to answering to subordinates, but billionaires stick together.

The Adelson family sold their Las Vegas casinos. They have spent the last 10 years working to get gambling legalized in Texas and are committed to the looonnngggg game. They have no interest in owning an NBA team in Las Vegas. There is more money in Dallas.

Can we just end the season now and keep the standings the way they are. Sixers 7th worst team in the league we get wet that pick. Kings, Clippers, Mavs 8-10 in the West. Rockets, Grizzles. 4/5 game. Which makes tonight kind of important. Let's win tonight and keep the Grizzles down in that 4 spot. Don't want to see Nuggets or Lakers there.

I would have to agree. DFW is just awash with $ and maybe 6x Vegas fan base.

Also, let's not forget that when the Chickasaws planned for Winstar, many of the Las Vegas casino owners wanted in on the action offering to help with financing. The Chickasaw Tribe refused their offers.

It's such a great team and so fun to watch. You don't often see this level of defense combined with an offense anchored by one of the best scorers currently in the league. The only question is are they mentally and physically ready to grind through the playoffs to a title? History favors experience, but they are an historical anomaly in so many ways already.

As for the haters, some "sports fans" are just so miserable in general, they can't enjoy it in real time.

This was my favorite stat from the article:

Gilgeous-Alexander distributes his points fairly evenly from all over the floor: 31% from the midrange, 25% at the rim, 25% from free throws and 20% from 3-point range. His throwback style is part of what makes him so hard to guard.

Experienced the same problem with my HULU streaming service--made me madder than a wet hen. Since this wasn't a home game, you would have thought it would be televised.

It was blacked out for me as well. They had some old 30 for 30 playing on ESPN. Wasnt this gametime moved so it could be picked up for national tv just a week or so ago? Maybe that makes a difference?

ESPN today announced an update to its 2024-25 NBA regular-season schedule. On Wednesday, March 5, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will visit the Memphis Grizzlies and Ja Morant at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN Presented by State Farm. This matchup will be subject to local blackout restrictions in the Oklahoma City market and replaces the previously scheduled broadcast of the Dallas Mavericks vs. Milwaukee Bucks game.
