This is what a lot of businesses are doing for advertising now. Just pay a ton of influences to spread the word about it on social media. Skip this like traditional media ad buys.

Almost no local influencers are paid.

They are merely given freebies (food, drink, maybe some merch) and access.

Which is a pretty decent idea in general but passing on free press from OKCTalk is pretty stupid given that it’s probably just about the perfect hybrid between that type of publicity and traditional media (especially for their Oklahoma audience)

How many "influencers" does OKC have that people have actually heard of, anyway? This site reaches far more people than any "influencer" that I am aware of (which isn't saying much)... this site probably reaches more people than all the "influencers" in OKC combined!

I just think "influencers" are stupid as a whole. There are only a few people that are real influencers and thousands who think they are an influencer... and the annoying ones thing they deserve free stuff from everyone just because they can record a video on their cell.

On a separate note, I did see the video with David Payne and crew playing at OKANA... looks fun.

OKANA has been getting free press from OKC Talk for 3 1/2 years just in this thread alone.

yes. And they essentially ignored Pete when he offered to give them more of it in favor of others who haven’t done that for the last 3.5 years.

I’d be willing to bet that they weren’t limiting their influencer search to Oklahoma.

Of course not. But I am not expecting OKANA to appear on Mr. Beast either.

This place is awesome, part of a string of developments that will enhance OKC winding out this decade.

Damn, so hard to watch with the way he's swinging his camera around. Amateur at best.

If this was a Florida park, there would be dozens of videos from influencers about a park or ride opening. Disney and Universal throws a lot of perks at the bloggers.

They now have details and menus with prices for all the food options, and there are a ton:

I don't think I knew this, so it should be noted that some of those are only open to guests staying at the hotel. The Dive Bar, Kaya, Okasis (lagoon bar), Pie Lab, Sliders and Waterbyrd are listed as "exclusive to resort guests and waterpark visitors"

Jack Rabbit, Chido Tacos, Frosty Flamingo, Market 56, Okana Candy and Smokehouse Social are listed as available to all.
