Well we had thought about going and looked at an online menu which was older and more like the one we remembered. Obviously thats changed and I should have been more diligent to ensure I was looking at a current menu.
My wife ended up getting shrimp and grits and, inexplicably, the grits weren't cooked completely. And they had some odd crumbly/crunchy topping that my wife didn't like at all. Mind you, my wife is a lot more tolerant than I am, but when *she* tells me she wasn't crazy about something, rest assured that's a Big Deal. I was just frustrated that the vegetables in my pot roast dinner were waaaay undercooked, as in "clunk them on the plate" undercooked, and the "pot roast" serving was more like three medallions. I fully expected to have some leftovers to take home but what I had was barely one serving.
It was just disappointing, that's all. My wife and I are always trying to find something a little different or perhaps untried in a while, and for us this was a bit out of the way, but our prior memory was so good we decided to go back. The service was just fine, but the food wasn't up to par and I kinda doubt we'd make a special effort to go back. Win some, lose some.
On the good side, we did stroll by Pie Junkie and share a slice of heated peach crumble pie and it was yummy!!
