Thread: New Target in SE Norman

  1. #1

Default New Target in SE Norman

Looks like a new Target, consolidation of Armstrong Bank’s E Norman and Noble locations and another big box retailer as part of this new development south of the Walmart on Classen/77.

I could see that big box retailer going next to the anticipated Target being an Academy.

Went from a mixed-use development with housing to a strip mall. The most Oklahoma thing ever.

Nice way to get that Noble traffic but i betcha those OU kiddos go to this one instead of the current one. Even if it's not a "Super" store, it'll be a lot closer for their "fix". I wonder what that north store will look like after this opens, in terms of traffic. It's pretty crazy busy today, but when ive been in there i'd say about half of the customers are OU kids.

I'm sure the UNP store will be fine especially for the westside of Norman.

I'm not sure where you come up with that idea. There are 19 college apartment complexes within 3 miles of that location. I'm also a electrician and have done service calls on 17 of the 19 sites and I can confirm 95% of the residences are college kids.

They probably just made it a mixed use try to get funding. Very few of those mixed developments actually end up as mixed developments

I am hearing that a Lowe's is going in that area as well. Does anybody have any documentation from the city whether that be plans or permits filed?

Please dismiss this post. Accidentally posted the same thing as above. It apparently never cleared my text box

Apparently the source to where I initially got the information from I didn't realize was from a city council member so I would have to say it is pretty reliable

A typical Lowe's is 120-140,000 square feet. I think it's more likely to be a Tractor Supply, Ace, or smaller-scale store like that. But we shall see...

Mayor candidate Holman is who was saying this. He is also a current city council member.
