Good to see this moving along. I drive through the area about once a week, have a seen a descent amount of dirt work both on this site and the area to the north of the development (I am guessing roads for the next phase). It will be cool to see the southern part built out and sold and then moving north towards the Ferris Wheel.

I love how Sam Day and Josh Hogsett designed these. We have a great group of local Architects making waves in OKC right now.

I usually dislike the style of new construction interiors (maybe because its all builder-grade) but these look nice!

Per Willowbrook Construction on Linkedin: "Wheeler Apartments a 5-story wood frame multifamily housing development in OKC has officially begun construction. Take a look at this stunning view of the concrete pour in the night sky. We are proud to have partnered with Gardner Studio to bring this project to life. Stay tuned for updates on this incredible addition to the OKC community."

I went over to the pit last night. It puts off a surprising amount of heat. It is a great addition to the neighborhood!

I am having a hard time remembering where the apartments will go. It looks like the smaller complex will face east on Wheeler Street (see concrete pour by OkieBerto above) so will the other apartments face Western and split Hangar Road?

Just drove by and the first set of apartments are pretty much done with framing. They went up a lot faster than I thought they would. Great compliment to the row homes to the north.

Believe me, I'm not saying that they should ... But with the high pricing of these homes and the sterile/clean appearance of this community they'll want to make the views to the west "more comfortable". As this layout is completed to the west do you think that the developers or residents will try to get the automotive shop/salvage yard at SW 17th Street cleaned up or removed? Maybe forced NIMBY even though you're the one that moved in? There is an existing powder coating business on that property.

since they came to the nuisance, there likely isn't a serious tort claim for wheeler to get them out legally, but they could potentially use soft power to get them to move along.

Land value/speculators/gentrification will eventually shake all this out. It is already happening to the SE of downtown. Lots with bulldoze-ready homes are being bought for less than 40K in that area, and then a 250K+ home is being built and sold on it.

It happened in Midtown and is now happening west of Scissortail Park and eventually will happen to this area. It is also happening everywhere west of Classen.

We did some pictures just west of the southern Scissortail Park a few months ago and they are building million dollar homes just west of that. $425/sf. Never thought I would see that outside of NH and SOSA...

Where exactly? I've been in that neighborhood very recently and don't remember seeing anything like that.

On Zillow, there are four houses for sale on SW 13th directly west of the park; $825,000 x 2, $1.18 million, & $1.22 million.

Oh, I read your post incorrectly. I thought you were talking about west of the southern part of the upper park. I'll have to check out these houses.

I know the houses you're talking about, the small window on the 2nd floor of this house has been bothering me since I first saw it, lol.
