Friend of mind asked me about Zion Williamson (6'6' - 284 lbs.,) possibly being traded to the Thunder. Told him that wouldn't be a trade beneficial to
OKC b/c Zion is out with injury more than he's accumulated playing time.

Zion's a beast when he's healthy and IMO would be an asset to the team if he could stay injury free; just who or what would we give up to get him is the
million dollar question--his salary is $36.7 million. he makes more than Shai ($35.7).

If this team keeps doing what it’s doing, it’s historically good from a net rating perspective and that’s mostly without its second or third best player. The only expiring contract on the roster is Caruso who I’m assuming well re-sign. It’s funny that people constantly talk about potential trades. They shouldn’t trade anyone or change anything at this point, especially if it shakes up any of the major rotation players.

Agree. This team doesn't need to trade for anyone because they're very good as they are. They're doing something rarely seen in pro sports. They're playing as a team. A unit. No egos. Why risk bringing in a different personality in and messing things up?

I want no part of Zion. If they do a Trade it will be for money reasons or to maybe get a back up point guard to run the second unit. Two huge games coming up. Mavericks who are hot and Warriors/Rockets . Than mixed bag the rest of the month. Magic who are banged up. Heat than Wizards, Pacers, Hornets. Than big home game against a team that scares me the Memphis Grizzles and than Timberwolves. I think the west is breaking down as OKC, Grizzles, Mavs and than everyone else. Top 3 teams are taking shape.

Best Thunder team ever. 16-2 when either Chet or Hartenstein have played.

Nets are wanting a first round pick for Dennis Schroder. Hum we have picks he is on an expiring contract I think we have the cap space for him. Question is what would be his attitude coming to OKC and only playing 12-15 minutes a game. Schroder would be a great person to run the second unit starting the 2nd and 4th. Like Aj Mitchel but do we want to rely on him come playoff time. He had 10 minutes last night. We had 8 point lead to start the second last night still 7 when SGA came back in but Dallas had it down to 3 with 7 minutes left. Same with the 4th had it up to 20 down to 10 when SGA came back in. We need someone to run the second unit. This is where Giddy shined. Topic might me that guy next year but wouldn't mind going after Schroder question is he willing to play only 15 minutes. I can't see him getting more than that

AJ Mitchel played 10 min last night and most of those min were when the thunder were up 10 plus ..

he will likely not play at all in the playoffs .. (he would be the 11th man ) ..

Who runs the point for the second unit though. Wallace? I'm ok with that but it's something I wouldn't mind looking into. The were a couple games during the road trip I think it was the road trip where we had some not so great starts in the 2nd Qtr. I don't think we really need to change anything but if there is one spot I think we could get even better it's the back up point guard spot.

Sounds Like the Warriors really want him. All more more reason for the Thunder too go after him too keep him away from teams he could make better.

Schröder's contract is $13,025,250 and the Thunder would have to match salary, right? Who are you trading to make that happen?

Thunder need to keep our team players and prepare for Chet Holmgren's return.

https://x.com/frankmikesmith/status/1866932418223149103 I agree so much with this take. People in OKC can't watch the Thunder unless they pay or have Cox.

I don't know how all that works. I think we have like $35 million in cap space so can't we get him and just have to cut someone? Arron Wiggins is making 10 million not sure how much a first round pick is worth. I really don't know how all that works. I think he would be a good pick up though. Would hate to see Wiggins go but Schroder is IMO an upgrade plus than his salary comes off the books and you have Topic as the backup next year.

Yeah I'm not trading anyone on this roster for Schroder right now. Things couldn't be working much better for the team right now and our second or third best player is out. Chet and Hartenstein haven't even played together yet and we spend two weeks without both of them. The whole "if it ain't broke, dont fix it" thing is really like "this thing is historically good right now...why the hell would you touch it?". I'm sure there's some move we could make to improve the team but who's minutes are you giving that person?
